But it would have been really tough benching Brady after the run he'd had to get us that far.

Ya know, most of the poster that blindly support coach Still, also believed that Willy P was the next Dave Dickinson, without him ever playing in a FSC game, now, it goes to show you that you don't know much about athletes, since coach Stitt cut his ass without him every playing a game, it lead me to believe you don't know much about what makes a good coach.
Now arguably this is suppose to be the best recruiting class in the history of Griz football, again without the athletes never being in a college game, however recruited by coach Stitt so that makes this the best recruiting class.
Now,with losing the majority of the starters on defense, the DC and the most respected assistant gone,we will more than likely have DC with about the same creditals as the head coach and OC.
I think it's going to take coach Stitt a little longer than all of you and coach Stitt think it going to take to bring the Griz back to where we all want it to be, if ever.

Way to be optimistic. :thumb:

IMO coach Stitt really showed his color, about the tweet on BG, without including his own ineptness in producing 4 yards rushing and 6 points, not sure if that is all BG fault, prepardiness for the NDSU was the coaches responsibility, and that was lacking.
And if anything, watching the offense this year I am more worried than I was at the start of 2015.

My hat's off to the Griz players and especially the D for playing their hearts out and making it a successful season. But your post is wrong: QB, RB, and offensive line were all big question marks coming into the season. We beat 2 teams, NDSU and SDSU, that probably had better and bigger athletes than we did. I'm not sure that last year's Griz team (with Delaney and JJ) would have beaten SDSU - we'll never know, of course...
Stitt did just fine, considering it was his first year.

I think Stitt's offense puts a lot of the load on the QB, and injuries and poor play from that position was a big part of why the offense was so inconsistent....Will he find a QB capable to run his system...I say yes, but even his time at CSM tells you he was not able to find one all the time....as for the Griz rushing game at UNDSU....the OL got its ass handed to them....and for everyone asking why he didn't change QB's....no reason to play a guy you don't see on the roster next year...

Look part of being a great coach is dealing with the cards you are dealt, case in point PSU Bruce Barnum first year HC inherited a team that has done nothing for years, his first year he is Big Sky Coach of the year, didn't win the Big Sky although beat the team that did.
That is playing with the cards that you are dealt.
So, what you are saying then, is that coach Stitt will fix the problems that you have pointed out, and the Griz are on their way next season ?

All season long poster stated Willy P will be the answer for 2016, how that working out ?

I'm not denying there have been hiccups, but both Stitt's system/coaching as well as the recruiting show promise. Stitt's system, with its emphasis on quick reads and accuracy, is heavily dependent on QB play. I think Brady will be even better next year, our OL and RB's will be better next year, and I have faith that Stitt will have someone really good to step in at QB after Brady.
grizindabox said:I would also add that Barnum brought in a drop down to play QB...to run what he wanted to do.....
It obviously was "tough" because he didn't do it. As I noted several weeks ago, this coach is going to play his playbook, results be damned. The ISU game represented an excellent alternative strategy. One again, Simis made rushers look good and led them himself. He did a great job of the zone read; and a really nice job of executing the run game; the best of any UM QB this season. They ran up points.Grizz Man said:But it would have been really tough benching Brady after the run he'd had to get us that far.UMGriz75 said:Either of those would have posed a different game at NDSU, but also would have required the different QB.

Again what a good coach does, didn't coach Stitt know what he had as far as athletes
