Come on boys. I am amazed at how short our memories can be. All I can say is Daulton Daum. Not that long ago gentlemen.

Remind me which last year's cat coach pulled that off?

None. Our brand new Griz coach pulled that off. Daum had verballed to MSU, if you don't remeber. And we are being hypocritical to say TG is being any different.

Ty was flying around the nation on the Griz expense account recruiting kids for UM....Stitt wasn't on MSU's expense account recruiting for Griz. Yes, Stitt used his Mines contacts etc......BUT not in same NCAA level, let alone conference. Bottom line, comes to ethics....we know TG's. Not like first time he had issues crossing lines.

When did TG ever cross ethics lines?

Funny thing is, he probably told kid UM was best for him (kids best interest)....now says come to MSU.....hmmmmmm guess wasn't really concerned with the kid, or was a liar. Either way .... puke! Gavin Crow Griz recruit came our and said Ty tried to flip him to MSU. Puke

Also trying to get Tyrone Lewis-Kidd (msu Offered 3 days ago).

Who has had a offer from Montana for about 3 months.

And Tanner Hawthorne...

Do you really think um doesn't offer kids who already hold offers from other schools? You guys are ridiculous and out of touch.

I just texted a couple coach friends of mine...not Griz or cats...and asked a few general questions about this...
1) Yes, it's frowned upon and yes it can cause sour grapes, but many do it anyway
2) Many schools do have outgoing coaches sign something about taking recruits
3) concensus is that if they are being recruited but no "verbal" agreement, it's not a big deal, but some still contact the verbal led kids
4) it pisses the coaches off and they run up the score if they can

Edit: in this type situation that I presented both of them

The strip club event.

DUI, then discovered driving on suspended license .....yes knew the law, and choose to break it eventhough part of his DUI punishment . not to mention the "Hangoverish" ,Drugged? Can't remember how a bunch of stuff ended up in my hotel excuse.

"I don't know how those recruits ended up on my new team".............. - TG, 2016

Or after his in home visit a MSU recruit says...."I don't why I signed with MSU after Ty's visit, I wish I could remember why I did, and how all these items ended up in my bedroom and I have a strip club stamp on my hand ?"

Brutal! Egriz is brutal! Less than a year ago, there were some posters saying he should be the next head coach! Now it's piranhas in the Amazon! I'm not saying it's anyone posting now, but wow, this guy's dead to to almost everyone. He's a nice guy. Talked to my 8 year old at a football camp-said play for the Griz when you grow up! Probably code for Bobcats, but my kid still wants to be a Griz! I don't envy Bob Stiff when he leaves!

I found this article about Chris Peterson's poaching Boise St recruits last year. At the time of the article, he had taken 4 of them, and had just won another one over Boise St. Look at what this author said (no big deal) and what the poll said (no big deal). Again, I don't know the ethics. I've seen what some of you have said, but would rather have more definitive information.

yep, this happens all of the time. love the mentality of the thread however. if a coach leaves a school and tries to get kids he recruited to follow him he's classless without ethics. but if a coach comes to a new school, and tries to get kids who committed to other schools already (not the school he was at) then that is fair game. :?

here's what i know. verbals mean very little to coaches. if there is a player that they want and they fill a need, that coach will continue to try to land the kid until he signs on the dotted line.

and to go another step farther, if and when kane moves on he'll likely pursue kids he was recruiting, whether they committed to msu or another school or not. and i'll have no problem with it whatsoever.

but it's cat griz stuff. this is egriz. so i'd expect nothing less. i'll remain unimpressed unless he actually gets one of your verbals to join him here. ;)

TG may have crossed the ethics line with the strip club nonsense and his DUI but all IS fair in love, war and recruiting.......Plus, if he was asked to resign from UM, like some have suggested, he may feel that he was clear of any loyalty issues....unfortunately, it's the world we live in.

Actually I think it is fair game to go after ones, HE didn't have serious contact with while representing, being paid, by the other school.

Yup, DUI and suspended license, but that's legal and not ethical. Where's the ethical stuff? The Boulder hangoverish stuff was dropped, shown to be a false charge and bad investigation by police, and zero evidence that he took anything from the car or was close to the car. Videos showed he took nothing into the hotel or his hotel room. I was told it was a set-up. In any event, nothing ethical or legal there. Keep trying.

I think what's being shown is that you either don't know what ethics or ethical means, or you're just a liar.
