It's more that some donors don't come, not that they leave. They still come to games and provide some financial and other support, but they may not be as willing or likely to pony up a $100,000 or a million. You are welcome to say and feel what you want, but, in my view, you are not right on these things, and it shows that you are not used to raising money, being asked for large amounts of money, and being around people and companies with large amounts of money. For the most part, they are not looking to make themselves feel important or making the program about them, they already are important or think they are. It's a free country; they can do what they want with their money. It's surprising that someone with views like you seem to have, seem to think the big donors are obligated to donate to organizations or schools no matter what's going on or what they think about the organization.
