Stitt needs 4 years...

I could not stay out of this dumb debate...

Most of you do not understand business and what it takes to operate one. If you put an inch of business thought into this Stitt hire you would understand this was one of the greatest hires we could have made.

Insult my knowledge of business? What's next? Likening my football knowledge to Ron Ash.

It didn't take coach Read four years, and he started at the ground floor, and it had not taken any coach since Read four years, if it takes four year for coach Stitt it may mean the wrong guy was hired, besides I'm 75 and have no patience to hope to see success in four years.

You're right, it took Read 8 years before his first conference championship.

Coach,Stiit is not starting where coach Read started from, Dornblazer to where we are today, having to get Cathy Noble and QB club to get entry path into the playoffs, Coach Stitt is pretty much walking into a team that has been competitive last year and in the years past since coach Read, besides coach Stitt has the Fly Sweep, if it takes for years for him to be competitive in the Big Sky, IMHO he should have continued his career in Colorado.

I don't think anyone on here is disagreeing with any of that. No one has said Stitt is starting where Read did or that we won't be competitive... What does Coach Stitt having the fly sweep have to do with anything :D

In a program with winning tradition, for me the 1st year is a crap shoot for a new coach. I never know what to expect. Worse case, I expect nothing less than a .500 record. The 1st year is the only year, with a long leash. The 2nd year, I will expect playoffs. The 3rd year and beyond, I will be expecting deep playoff runs.

By listening to Stitt, he expects to win from the get go. He wants to and expects the GRIZ to win every game. His team will play to win every game, no excuses. He knows what kind of expectations the fans have here. To be honest, I won't be surprised if the team is better this year, than last. I doubt a long leash will even come into play year 1.

As a fan base, we expect and deserve deep playoff runs every year. For what I give the Griz program (support and constructive criticism from afar and donations totaling in the low three digits), I don't think it's wrong to expect semifinal appearances on a regular basis, and maybe a seat on the team plane, and an invite to fly the #37 flag, and probably a flag with just my name on it and the words "Superfan, and rad-ass mofo" that flies next to the NC banners.

Further, it is not enough that the Griz succeed, other programs should fail.

Fly Sweep, was sarcasm, then again he has been immortized for his Fly Sweep offense, what I'm thinking is that you were not serious, that he needs four years to implement his offense.

If that is what he needs he will fail, that offense will not be around in four years.

As I was admiring and chuckling at your post, I thought of what I expect or deserve from Griz athletics. I can't think of anything I deserve or expect. Not one thing. I have enjoyed Griz athletics immensely for the past 25 years. It has been a bonus for me and huge pleasure. I am appreciative to have become associated with and included in Griz Nation. I assume there are others who feel the same way.

I think most feel the same. :thumb:
But I want that flag. It's the least they could do.

I deserve and expect to be able to read a thread about our head coach without it degenerating into a dick-measuring contest between two posters.

Won't take four years; Delaney got us into the playoffs in two after a situation that would of left any other program facing an 0-11 season. Winning in the Big Sky = not that hard

But, Delaney was a HOF coach...and we haven't seen Stitt at this point of the game!

I think we are brothers in another life or something.
I strongly agree with your whole post, even down to the fan time-frame.

Perhaps a lucky break with that first bye week, and two byes during the season? Oh yeah, three if you count that last weekend roady.
