If they get in Haslams face I hope he punches them twice. Stitt has to seriously upgrade our talent to be competitive with the upper part of the FCS. We do not have the horses to compete in the BSC let alone on a national level.
Yes, F the big, medium and small donors that help fund the program. F the Washington brothers who committed to donate $7 million and their dad/mom for funding a large chunk of the stadiums several decades ago and all their donations to the academic side since then. F the stakeholders and shareholders of UM athletics.
I doubt that any donors think the program is about them, but it's not realistic to expect people to put it big sums of money if they don't like the direct of the program.
What's wrong with the program is loudmouths like yourself who won't recognize the incredible success and good things about the program and who unfairly diss players, coaches, people who do support the program, etc., who don't give a dime of support, and who won't recognize that winning the conference championship 7 years in a row and getting to national championship game 3 out of 7 years is a strong sign of extreme success. Yes, it's not what NDSU has done in recent years, but UM's success in the past couple decades puts at top eschelons of FCS elite.

Well I didn't send millions, but I withheld my $$ until I saw who they hired and I probably would NOT have sent in my pledge agreement if Hauck had been hired. So, there are at least SOME donors who feel differently....

I am sure that there are many who feel like you do, and may have been less willing to donate if BH was hired, but my impression is that many of the large donors supported Hauck and I know lots of medium and smaller donors who are now taking a wait and see attitude on Stitt.

Sorry, there's nothing to lawyer out of. Donors get to decide when, to whom, and how much to donate. That's their right; it's a free country. That's life. Their decisions whether to donate or not, don't make the program about them. I really don't understand how you could even make that connection. Do you really think that every sizable donation makes the organization/program about them? No wonder you come across as being so goofy and out to lunch on this board.
Zootown Rox said:We'll be great starting next year. Reasonable expectations would be playoffs (we should always expect this) and top 2 in conference. I wouldn't expect a dip in the defense and I expect the offense will be much improved from last season when it was honestly the biggest weakness of the team, well maybe special teams was. So I'm expecting a better season than last year and would be disappointed if we took a step back. We should be able to beat Cal Poly at home, and if not beat NDSU than give them a closer game, the Liberty game will be interesting and I don't really know what to expect there. Other than that our conference schedule is a little more favorable having EWU and NAU at home, and our toughest road games being at Idaho State and MSU. Going undefeated in conference is highly likely, and dropping two or more conference games seems unlikely. So feel free to expect big things in year one of Stitt.

Wow. Some of you guys are delusional. You think it's highly likely that you'll go undefeated in conference? I'll take that bet. You haven't won or even tied for the Big Sky in like six years. Now you have a brand new HC coming in, an experiment to see how effective this, 100+plays per game system can be in the FCS. This is a radically different offense, and you don't have the ideal personnel to run it yet. You are completely unproven at QB, lost your star QB that everyone said was the only reason you haven't had losing seasons. Oh, and there are some damn good teams in the Big Sky, and you have a brutal schedule. 7-4 best case.

Gonna agree with Playerrep here. The variety of people and families that donate big AND small $ and show passionate interest in griz football are what makes this organization special. I usually agree with AG1's stuff for the most part...but it's obvious you're just trying to come off as edgy, but you're sounding like an a**hole.PlayerRep said:ALPHAGRIZ1 said:We currently do not have the talent to be successful right out of the gate. I honestly don't really care what the donors do that much, Im glad they support our program. If its me personally and they picked a coach I was unsure about I would still support the program with donations to build facilities. And YOU made it sound like the donors do think its all about them because if they don't get their guy, they take their ball and go home.
And as for me coming off goofy...I am goofy and I like to have fun on this board....I'm guessing that most posters would agree that you come off equally as strange on the other side of the spectrum...as in insecure, uptight, and stiff as a board. Id still have a beer with ya tho :thumb:
