Had he come to UM, he could have been the next DD.

I look forward to him becoming the next Mark Desin for the Cats.

;)
Actually Roderick was going to be Nevada's number 2 this season, he was there #3 last season!
Nice use of pronowns. He didn't want to go to the same program with Gustafson.

Hope nothing but the best for him. Doesn't matter which Montana school he plays for, as long as it is one. Would love to see a Montana kid leading that team in Bozeman, maybe they could get to the big one...
help me out here...below your avatar it says your a fan of UM? how in the HOLY FUCK are u a griz fan and say optimistically "maybe the cats can get to the big one"? wow,WTF!

Moral of the story. IF you think that any of the self appointed "insiders" on this board have consistently accurate information from behind the closed doors of the program, then you are an idiot. :thumb:

Bingo! We have a winner over here. Tell him what he's won behind closed curtain number 3!

Behind curtain #3 is a Griz jersey w/ T. Roderick on the back.

From what family friends of his told me in Bozeman (and who knows if it is accurate) he decided on Nevada after High School because he was split 50/50 on UM and Bozeman and really didn't want to let anyone down. Add that it was a QB centered offense and a D1-A program and the decision was relatively simple. His father also told me that during the process he just wanted to make sure Tanner picked the best program for him. The fact that Steve Roderick played at Bozeman had no bearing on Tanner's decision. I don't know if any of you have met Steve, but he is a very honest and genuine man so I tend to believe him. I'm sure when Tanner had to make the decision between UM and Bozeman again he simply measured the program that was going in the right direction. All he had to do was look at UM (missed playoffs 2 of last 3 years, facilities that are on a D III level, constant controversy and threat of NCAA sanctions, coaching switch in the near future) vs. Bozeman (Playoffs last 3 years, better facilities, stability in the coaching staff, etc.) and the decision was probably pretty easy for him. Good luck to him. I hope they lose every game, but I wish him well.

Also, Delaney was my position coach, to think that he cannot relate to a 20 year old football player is absurd. He has been coaching since the dead sea was just sick. All he knows is football. I'm sure he cannot relate to a stockbroker or a fireman, but a football player? Come on.

So a question for one of you who said we would be happy with a transfer that is coming our way. Are we still going to be happy, or was Roderick our reason for optimism?

Haha, sorry, sometimes I like to jump on here and throw some info at you guys from a player perspective. I forgot egriz is the twilight zone where up is down, left is right, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

As a Griz fan, I appreciate good football, winning football more appropriately. I want our oppenents to all be good, beating sub-par teams doesn't do much for me. Every team in the Big Sky grooms their program towards beating the Griz, or they used too. I want the Cats to have the very best team they can field, especially with Montana kids. I want to beat good teams as well as poor teams. There was a lot of satisfaction going into Bozeman in 2011 and beating the ass off of the number one ranked team in the nation at the time. To me, that victory did more for the Griz than any other victory that year. When players turn down UM for MSU it makes those victories all the sweeter...means more to beat other products from Montana than from other states. The rivalry has been going on for over 100 years, only Montanan's (and a few players) know the true spirit of the long time rivalry. A true Griz fan...You will find none truer than me, guaranteed!

He was Nevada's 3rd string QB... :coffee:
And you and every other E-Jizzer would have lined up to :o him if he'd gone to Missoula

Not me. And I think everyone on here got caught up in it just because he's from Montana. If he wasn't from Montana everyone would be wondering why the hell we're going after Nevada's 3rd string QB. He was 3rd string in 2012 and he would have been 3rd string next year if he stayed.

If he was a Jr. that might have some merit. Get over yourselves for Christ's sake.

He's a Cat, congratulations, you got him, he'll probably catch a few passes for you next season, and then the season after that, he'll be just like Tony Romo coming into town to take his beating.

keep it up! :thumb: A post of sanity once every two weeks or so would be welcomed...I sure as hell am not going to do it.

Tanner told the coaching staff he would come to UM if he was guaranteed to be the starter. Giid fir the coaching staff to not give in to that garbage. That was probably his breaking point. UM gives him the starting job he is in Missoula, otherwise he goes home. No biggie. JJ will be the next NC QB for UM, not TRod.

Montana is going to have to head out of state for a few years, just like State did after its murder and cocaine scandal. MsU got some good recruits and so will UM.

Yep, you must have been sitting right next to Coach Delaney when Tanner was telling him that!

Well yea, it's like chosing between a job you want and a job you really want. You know you got a great job (MSU), but you might as well see if the good job (UM) will give into your boldest demand.
