From what family friends of his told me in Bozeman (and who knows if it is accurate) he decided on Nevada after High School because he was split 50/50 on UM and Bozeman and really didn't want to let anyone down. Add that it was a QB centered offense and a D1-A program and the decision was relatively simple. His father also told me that during the process he just wanted to make sure Tanner picked the best program for him. The fact that Steve Roderick played at Bozeman had no bearing on Tanner's decision. I don't know if any of you have met Steve, but he is a very honest and genuine man so I tend to believe him. I'm sure when Tanner had to make the decision between UM and Bozeman again he simply measured the program that was going in the right direction. All he had to do was look at UM (missed playoffs 2 of last 3 years, facilities that are on a D III level, constant controversy and threat of NCAA sanctions, coaching switch in the near future) vs. Bozeman (Playoffs last 3 years, better facilities, stability in the coaching staff, etc.) and the decision was probably pretty easy for him. Good luck to him. I hope they lose every game, but I wish him well.
Also, Delaney was my position coach, to think that he cannot relate to a 20 year old football player is absurd. He has been coaching since the dead sea was just sick. All he knows is football. I'm sure he cannot relate to a stockbroker or a fireman, but a football player? Come on.
