Portal ruining FCS

The portal gives the power to players where it should be.

When you have the portal plus NIL, I don't think it is a good thing. The big money being thrown around is going to lead to, if not already, a lot of corruption. It is going to ruin college FB.

I'd like to see the return to decades ago, when freshmen did not play with the upper classmen, adjusted to academics or not play unless academically eligible. The larger schools could then judge the talent that entered the portal because someone told them how great they were as freshmen, against other freshmen. That will never happen but it would help to control the process that invites corruption of everything it touches.
Happy New Year.

Or install the sit for a year to move up like it always was. I would love to read articles from the day when that was first a rule to see what there main objective was, bet it was to keep the FBS from poaching players.

How about they make coaches that leave before their contract expires sit a year before they can coach at another school. Shouldn't have an arbitrary rule that punishes the student-athlete and then allow "other" adults in the same system come and go as they please. College athletics before the portal contained elements of slavery.

There’s an easy answer. If your HC leaves, you can hit the portal with ZERO penalty. Otherwise, you sit a year or drop down to FCS.

I like that direction. Assuming it’s that easy, do you allow coach leaving to be interpreted as head coach, coordinator, position coach or any on field coach. Seems unless you clarify. A kid could find about any excuse, and since a lot of the position coaches and coordinators are primary recruiters for these kids you would have to have some allowance for that. Given the coaching changes happen frequently for a majority of teams you would really need to define the intent.

HC. Period.

The horse is out of the barn. I can't imagine anything changing, other than perhaps some modest rules/restrictions on NIL. None of these things are going to go away, in my view.

Nope. No putting that toothpaste back in the tube.

So a kids DC or OC takes a HC job or and upper level job after outperforming and he can’t move with him, but a HC gets canned for a shit job and he can? Doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Well where would you draw the line?

I would go back to the previous rules if I could. Seeing as that won’t happen I would say that if your coach, your coordinator (on your side of the ball) or your direct position coach moves schools you can transfer.

So in other words if an OC departs for a HC job somewhere the entire offense is eligible for immediate transfer?

Given the amount of coaching movement in general, I’m not sure that fixes much.

Hoops show Bobby this video. Maybe he’ll learn how to communicate with players.

Here, I'll do it for you, considering how predictable it will be.

Bobby doesn't need to see this video, he already knows how to communicate with players. He's a very good or great coach. Top 8, made the playoffs. Did way better than Stitt did in his last year. Was one injured player away from a deep playoff run. I can tell you never played the game, and don't understand recruiting.

Don't you love how chief "Nose Up His Arse" uses the "very good or great" phrase all of the time. Guess he can't make up his mind which is correct.

Do you think Bobby would let any player keep playing once they informed him they were leaving?
