Per today’s 406 article ... over 50 applied.

At least one of them is a BSC head coach (and a surprise!)

UM and Shannon seem to have kept a lid on it, but Shannon has sued the U.
Where did you see there’s a current big sky coach interested? I didn’t see that in the article.

The only big Sky coach that would be surprise to me would be if Binford applied for the job.
Same here. She's accomplished so much at MSU during her 16 seasons at the helm in Bozeman, there is no way I could see her applying for the head coaching vacancy at her program's main in-state rival.

I feel like the surprise applicant should be just that, a surprise.

No, it was not in the article. And no, it's not Binford. Said coach might be using this application to angle for a pay raise at his/her current school, I dunno.

Ill give you a hint. HIS team has been very good the last few years. I'm not sure why we just don't say it. But with as many coaches in the mix he may not be the top candidate.

So Jon. I was thinking it might have been Wendy jumping off the burning ship.

Not Jon. He likes where he's at.

Would not be surprised in the least that Seton Sobolweski applied for it. He is to me the best tactical mind in the conference and I have always been impressed with his ability to maximize talent.

Not to mention that he's able to recruit kids to Pocatello too, which is not an easy task!

Interesting to hear about that name. Either him or Jon Newlee at Idaho but I don't see Newlee leaving Moscow.

I've always thought Sobolewski has been one hell of a coach for Idaho State. He's built some pretty strong teams there over the years. The person he replaced in Pocatello is the same person that's now coaching in Moscow.

Anybody know the story on Travis Brewster? Why he left (or was unrenewed at) North Dakota and is now an assistant at Idaho State? I thought his teams were tough, as well.

I think it was a new AD wanting to bring in someone new.

If you want to make an audacious move here, one that is not only thinking "outside the box" but outside the Big Sky, a move that not only would bring national acclaim to the program but also likely yield the best candidate, here's my advice: Hire a black coach.

So your hypothesis is that a black coach would most likely be the best candidate?

Weber State women’s basketball has both a black coach and a black assistant. My question would be what would be the audacious move in the conference and nationally? The move has already been made.

My opinion, and I’m sure the opinion of most Grizzly fans, is we want the best coach available and it would make no difference if that coach is red, yellow, brown, black or white. The only thing that matters would be that person’s qualifications including character. I can assure you that I will give my full support to whoever we hire. I just want the program to return to being the best program in the west.

UM made the 'audacious move' seven years ago. Where's the 'national acclaim' and the 'best candidate?' You are more FOS than I ever thought. So, the best candidate must be black. It's 'in their blood?' Idiotic fucking post, and racist.
