LadyGriz Lady Griz WNIT

LG do in fact have a chance to win this game.

3 points

1. Need to contain Elodie in the post.
2. Win Rebounding war
3. Shoot and make more FT than Boise takes.

We believe LG had advantage in a number of areas

Intersting notes.

Hanson results via LG will be interesting since she was an original commit for Shannon/Petrino.

Also note. PIROG, LINCOLN AND WACKER also Petrino recruits maybe thinking elsewhere considering who is coming in. Waddington being a long 3 like the Huards.

Things will get interesting in the coming weeks.

Yep, they really slammed the door on Boise down the stretch. Really good win. Glad they could get at least one more at home. Ace talked like it's a possibility that the LG host NDSU but from what is said on this board that chance is slim to none.

If Attendance is the key factor, Lady Griz will be a slam dunk to host. NDSU is an auto qualifier and I assume if they meet the minimum bid which I would think there would be one, I would think they would be hosting. But their attendance is not very good and the guarantee may not be high enough to cover all the expenses. For us, I hope that is the case and turn down the host opportunity.

Problem is the Adams Center is hosting some Garden show and I thought I heard the requirement was that the next game needed to be played within 4 days. So…if the Garden show goes the whole weekend I don’t think the ladies would be able to host even if they wanted to….unless the small chance the Garden show closes shop by say noon on Sunday and they have a 7pm tip off or something like that.

If having to play within 4 days, then it's off to Fargo to play in front of maybe 500 to 1000 fans. Lady Griz had around 1,471 fans today which wasn't bad with only 2 days and very few media outlets to really announce the game to everyone. Wouldn't be surprised some Lady Griz fans reading the paper tomorrow and learn there was a game a day late.

I'm pretty sure Bartsch and H. Huard committed to UM initially under Petrino and both decided to still come after the coaching change but the three you listed committed later after Holsinger was here a season. Or are you not talking about who they committed under and instead maybe that Petrino had talked to those three early in their high school years? And of course, Petrino was Gfeller's head coach, as well, so that would be interesting to see their interaction after the game even though we don't have to worry about the portal with her.

Hanson had a pretty good game. 20 points, 6 rebs, 5 assists, 1 block, 3 steals, 3 TOs. 7-12 FG, 2-3 on 3FG and 4-4 on FTs. Would probably fit in well with this offense.

LG got beat on glass 35-42 and both teams shot 13-16 from the free throw line.

I was wrong. Listening toward the end of the game to Ace (voice of the Lady Griz) and he said that they could possibly play Monday night at home but then the winner would have to play again on the following Thursday.

One thing I say to the Garden Show:

"If ya can't smoke it, what good is it?"

That was a pretty impressive display by the LG last night. They got quality minutes from just about everyone. Macey Huard hit a gear last night I hadn't seen from her and dominated at all levels on the offensive end. She looked like the best player on the floor by far for long stretches last night.

Pretty unimpressive attendance last night, I thought we'd see two to three thousand last night especially with the cheap tickets and it was a regional team in BSU.

Ugh. Leaning on Septuagenarians to be your attendance base isn't exactly a wise strategy going forward. Gotta find a way to engage the young folk and get them off their myspace and beepers.

I may have missed it, but why did NDSU get a bye?

Thursday's Missoulian does not mention the game, as they did not previously mention the game when it was an upcoming event.

I'm not entirely sure, other than they finished second in a conference that had a higher ranking conference RPI/Net ranking than the Big Sky.
NDSU did beat South Dakota twice, a team that Lady Griz beat once. NDSU actually was competitive with SDSU which is ranked number 9 in college mid-major poll. NDSU did lose to MSU, but beat NAU kind of badly, worse than we beat BSU.

That was expected. Won't see the write-up of the game until Saturday.
That too, now what about other medias...I follow LG on FB so look forward to watching on ESPN+. So, GoGriz/LG showed ESPN+ at 7:00 pm. It never happened!!!! There were error messages on the site, one of them indicated game starting at 5:00pm....6 min left! I was pissed! But glad the LG won, I've watched about every game on ESPN+.
