LadyGriz Lady Griz WNIT

Wish Holsinger would hire one of these three graduating seniors to be a Montana Grad-Assistant coach. If they're interested, of course.
Carmen is going to the WBCA coaching program so maybe there is a posibility that she and coach have had that discussion. Who knows?

Absent Macy, her choice or coach, or maybe NCAA rule?

She would definitely be eligible to play (Ivy league transfers entered the portal earlier this season and still played all season), but unless she hasn’t 100% made up her mind (which it appears she had), I’d be pretty disap

Feel badly for Carmen. She played only 22 minutes because of foul trouble all game. Gina and Maggie were pretty incredible. How do we replace these three?

IIRC, I think Maggie also expressed interest in getting into coaching in a GoGriz article.

"She fouled out with 7:02 left and Holsinger opined that "the refs were horrible." She had sat for 6:56 after picking up her fourth foul and then collected her fifth just 51 seconds after subbing in.

Sophomore guard Mack Konig, a cornerstone returner for the program, scored 11 points but shot just 3 of 13 from the field. Junior forward Dani Bartsch, a Helena native and another pivotal returner, grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and scored three points as she finished with just 14 points over her final seven games.

Bartsch accounted for over half the team's boards as UM was outrebounded 46-25. The Lady Griz were edged 17-7 on the offensive glass and outscored 14-8 in second-chance points.

They missed six layups in the fourth quarter as they tried to erase a 55-50 deficit after three frames. They got within three points but eventually missed nine of their final 10 field goal attempts."

Missoulian.

Ivy League athletes can't play after they graduate. So, lots of them have more eligibility, especially the covid year ones, and play elsewhere after they graduate. Ivy players don't redshirt, but sit out due to injury. Some football players with remaining eligibility will intentionally not graduate on time, and then play the next fall and take courses to graduate in December.

"Cornell forward Keller Boothby told The Portal Report that he will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer for the 2024-25 season. To be clear, Boothby will play the 2023-24 season (beginning in less than one week) for Cornell once again. This will be his fourth season with the program. After the season when Boothby graduates, he will be available as a graduate transfer and will have immediate eligibility."
