Whomever we find behind behind the center this week, please let him not have to scramble after another four or five bad snaps. They are possession killers.

As for Gustafson, I've been told by a handful of players that he is a great leader. HaveGriz is 100% accurate there was no way Gus was going to be pulled in favor of anyone else had he not got injured. I do look forward to more spread option plays for Chalich and/or Simis. If, Chalich can calm himself, he can find more consistency. Simis, appears be more even keeled when it comes to emotions. Either way, I feel they will take care of the QB position and do better than many expect, starting against NAU.

Sign of a leader? Panics under pressure?

Chalich or Simis or whatever the hell his name is don't have a shot in hell to win over our crowd lets be honest, either one of them will struggle and people will start booing I can already hear it. We need to stop bringing down drop down QBs they never seem to pan out for us outside of Ochs. Local boys can get a pass for a few bad games, but these dropdowns struggle and the boo birds come out, not saying its a bad thing its just what i've observed with Swogger, Roper etc.

Question for non-pedestrian fans: Does the third-string quarterback automatically become the most popular player on the team when the starter goes down with an injury?

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Grizzoola

Fun fact....Chalich grew up closer to Missoula than any QB on the roster outside of maybe Weyer....Also, the Chalich deal was not your normal drop down situation, nothing like the Swogger, Roper, Washington, Ochs etc. situations.

If Chalich grew up in CDA and Weyer in Bozeman, then Chalich has him beat :D

Honest? Not one of us will know until after the game on Saturday about our QB's performance.

What sticks in my gizzard is the fact that EMU has great QBs. Vern was great but the two behind him are great also. A total of three! All outstanding. Meanwhile the Griz seem to have tons of QBs but of what quality?

Not putting any of the kids down. What I do know is this. Some kids are "gamers" meaning they practice so-so but placed in a game they play lights out and really surprise coaches and fans. I tend to think one of our many QBs could be that type of player and I continue to hope one of these guys will come out of the woodwork and out perform all expectations.

Stitt has made it very clear, guys must perform during practice or they don't get to see the field on Saturday. I follow his thinking and it makes perfect sense. But right now I wouldn't mind watching at least two QBs this Saturday.

One thing I hope Stitt knows when he sees one, is a leader. Chalich was a leader in that Liberty game. Ok, he's not this or that re: arm strength. But, he's a leader & the offense knows it. It's time Stitt sees that there's more than the one dimension of understanding his system. It's the guy who gets out there and leads his offense. Other than the QB, the rest of the offense are horses: they have to trust the guy with the reins. I think Chalich is the guy who can handle those reins very well.

Lol like this has been going on forever...it was game three man...cool down

Chad Chalich stats on Saturday when he was thrown into the fire down 17-0:

Completion/Attempts: 14/28
Yards: 228
AVG: 8.1
TD: 1
Interceptions: 0

I'd say Chalich did pretty well for being thrown into a situation like that, leading the offense to make a comeback and put in situations to take the lead and win the game.

Whoever you pick, you guys need a mobile QB who can run out of the pocket and downfield a bit. Staying in the pocket your QB won't last the year...too big a chance of getting hurt!

Why Badlands, are we cross? I don't think I could abide it if we were cross! 8-)

The only real comparison I have of either of the two QB's is from the spring game. Simis completed more of his passes then Chalich. Delivered the pass must quicker. Seemed to throw the short pass better but not so good on 20+ Yds. However, there was a very strong wind that day. I voted for Chalich to start on Saturday in this thread. I believe he gives us the best chance to win. Kind of contradict myself don't I? What will give us the victory on Saturday is quick passes to our tall receivers. Roberts and Horner need to see a lot of playing time. I don't remember Horner ever being in the game at Liberty...If you have the taller receivers all in the game at the same time, our QB can throw jump balls and our guys should be able to grab them. If you watch EWU in the past years, that is what made Vernon Adams so successful in the past. He would just throw it up and his receivers would go get it. I know, what a lame game plan. All in all, we will win Saturday! Our QB's will impress, no matter who starts. I believe we will see an offense, something that has been missing the last two games.

Brady G was the truth I don't think we can replace him. I was thinking Walter Payton Award finalist possibly if he continued putting up numbers like he did against NDSU, possibly even drafted.

That MIGHT be overstating it a bit, but I get it, you like him. Now deal!
