Gustafson out.....Chalich or Simis?

Whoever you pick, you guys need a mobile QB who can run out of the pocket and downfield a bit. Staying in the pocket your QB won't last the year...too big a chance of getting hurt!

As for Gustafson, I've been told by a handful of players that he is a great leader. HaveGriz is 100% accurate there was no way Gus was going to be pulled in favor of anyone else had he not got injured. I do look forward to more spread option plays for Chalich and/or Simis. If, Chalich can calm himself, he can find more consistency. Simis, appears be more even keeled when it comes to emotions. Either way, I feel they will take care of the QB position and do better than many expect, starting against NAU.

My leader comment was of Gustafson. I honestly don't know what leadership qualities Chalich or Simis have. I feel even their teammates are not quite sure. Playing time is all that can answer this and many other questions.

Chalich or Simis or whatever the hell his name is don't have a shot in hell to win over our crowd lets be honest, either one of them will struggle and people will start booing I can already hear it. We need to stop bringing down drop down QBs they never seem to pan out for us outside of Ochs. Local boys can get a pass for a few bad games, but these dropdowns struggle and the boo birds come out, not saying its a bad thing its just what i've observed with Swogger, Roper etc.

Chalich is the absolute starter now: From the last night's Monday night "Grizzly Sports Report" coaches tv show...

Reporter - "Now I know we are awaiting for the official word on Brady's status, but from some of the rumors that it looks like he might be gone for at least a couple games. Assuming he is gone for a few weeks, what's the game-plan, is there an open competition or is Chalich the guy?

Stitt - (Confidently said) "No, Chad will be the guy! And he kind of earned that in fall camp, we'll continue with him. And he did a nice job Saturday. We've got to clean a few things up. We'll get Makenna ready, start getting him some reps. We'll be just fine. We've got good football players on this team, and capable guys. And this is a great opportunity for Chad."

Going to all the stuff I could in the spring I thought it would be Simis at least for 2nd. Shows you why I am not the coach.

Is it just me or does Brady throw a much stronger ball than Chalich? He seamed to have much more zip to his throws??? Is that typical, I know very little about Chalich.

You just witnessed the difference between NFL arm strength and average average arm strength. Brady has a rocket launcher for an arm. I think Prater has a slighter stronger arm than Chalich. Simis and Chalich are pretty close in arm strength. I feel Simis has more consistency in accuracy though. I wish I knew what the coaches are seeing in practices. Based on the scrimmages, I felt Simis was clearly the best QB behind Gustafson.

Well said, I wish I knew that reason also. I thought Simis was the better runner, knowing when to bail.

Miller was the best pure passer this program has seen. Brandon Neill was no slouch, either, underused as he was.
