Brady G was the truth I don't think we can replace him. I was thinking Walter Payton Award finalist possibly if he continued putting up numbers like he did against NDSU, possibly even drafted.

Whatca' smokin'?

Change your tune yet?

NO....Brady is the best option currently for the Griz...but he is far from winning anything similar to the Payton....and there is no chance he gets drafted....

Can I dig up an old post and tell you I told you so if he does?

I watched Mines for 15 years and watched Stitts team evolve.

The two guys mentioned here might be fill ins... I like your freshman the best

Your starting QB is not on the team yet...

Well being in Colorado there is another 6'8 Montana kid you should be familiar with as well, he kind of reminds me of the Billings Bomber BGus!

If he wins the Payton or gets drafted....you bet...

In his (Brady) defense. You do need a better O-line.

I still really believe your starting QB isn't on the team yet... Just my opinion.

Oline hurt us and our TERRIBLE running game hurt us. Our backfield is the worst backfield we've had in MANY YEARS in my opinion.

I agree. Besides the O Line (that one has been beaten to death hasn't it?), the current stable of running backs has been sub-par.

I love Nguyen's heart (especially his pass blocking), but he has a propensity to dance and stretch plays latterly rather than get up field for yards. I like his agility, he has broken ankles every game, but his field vision is not the best. On top of that, he has some serious speed issues. I can think of at least 5 plays this year when he could have scored had he had better wheels.

Logwood and Counts are far too injury prone to really be effective over the course of a season.

That leaves Calhoun as the feature back. He has proven to be an excellent down hill runner and could very well be the feature back in this offense. He just needs to add some size, strength, and a touch of speed (all can be done over the offseason). He has been an impactful player this season as a true freshman and has plenty of room to grow. He simply lacks a decent supporting cast of running backs that can be change of pace or relief backs and still be effective.

I don't want to dog on John, that kid has been tough and played with a ton of heart. He has bled maroon ever since he came here and has been dedicated, hard working, and has saved QBs multiple times when the O Line has failed to pick up blockers or blitzers. He deserves recognition for what he has done for this program. I just think we have seen his peak.

Would not be surprised to discover Stitt shopping around for a seasoned, drop down qb to operate his offense.

...just a hunch

Give Nguyen NDSU's run blocking and he'd be all american.

I believe that as well. The guys we have now are just band aids. No way does Stitt want a 6'7 QB who is not mobile on his feet, control his offense. He's just working with what he has..

I'm actually wondering if the guy who stole Christmas might be the one.

The one from Auburn...the other Auburn

Really? Did anyone see Auburn play this year?

He does have big hands...

He is looking for a JC QB....but mostly because he needs depth at the position....not necessarily to be the starter next season....

I mean they beat the number 1 FCS program in the country...soooo that is indirectly an insult to us as well

Just a hunch - but I'm thinking "the other Auburn" is in reference to the City, not the school. And thus, also the reference to "the guy who stole Christmas" - sounds like "Grinch" - but it's not.
