Gunnar Brekke Gatorade POY

EverettGriz said:
I've been told by those who would know and those I would absolutely believe, that a specific bobcat booster -- and regular bcn poster -- called the Brekke family and asked them how firm Gunnar's commitment to UM is. Then, he posted regarding his conversation on bcn. Evidently, though, that thread has now been removed.

If this occurred, it would constitute a significant NCAA violation. Perhaps the NCAA ended up in Missoula because they didnt have a good state of Montana map??

So instead of contacting this guy that you know and asking him about the facts, you decide to take it upon yourself to report him to MSU.

You're sure a classy dude.

By the way, this guy and Gunnar's dad have been friends nearly their entire life. That would be considered an exclusion from a recruiting violation.

Had you contacted him first, you might have known this before you went and did what you did. Instead, you show your true colors and try to tear everyone else down to your level.

Forget about burying the hatchet, you can wallow in your own filth.

For the majority of Griz fans, I do sincerely hope things get better, but then there's a select few like this guy and PR that really ruin the image of Griz nation and makes it hard to maintain that position. I'll just choose to consider my in-laws, their friends, and my friends and try to ignore guys like DHinWa and PR.

Longtime,
I am confused. Nowhere in the post that you quoted did Everette state he contacted MSU. Do you know something the rest of us don't?

I'm going off of what I was told, but yes he contacted MSU directly. Evgrz / DHinWa can confirm this though.

I don't have a real big problem with him not honoring his commitment since Coaches do it all the time. Why would anyone expect an 18 year old kid to?

No shit.

:thumb: +1

Honestly, this verbal commitment is a bunch of B.S. anyways. I remember pulling out the paper in February and then finding out who signed with the griz. I think this message board, social media B.S. has really put a lot of undo pressure on these kids.

For everyone else: "So instead of contacting this guy that you know and asking him about the facts..."
For LongTimeCatFan: "I'm going off of what I was told..."

Hypocrite. Its not his job to contact the 'guy.' Now,...IF...MSU has been contacted, they would have to contact the NCAA about any violations. Its called 'self reporting.' Then, the NCAA, (317) 917-6222, would investigate.

Dude, first learn to read.

Then come back and apologize, and perhaps you and I -- assuming you're capable-- can have an adult conversation about what ACTUALLY took place, not what you imagine a big, bad Griz fan would do.

So what's the story about a cat booster calling the ncaa and stating he witnessed improper benefits to Griz players from UM boosters? Perhaps he should have taken your advice.....oh holier than thou.

LTCF, I have to interject. Everett is a dishonest D-bag who can't admit to any possible lapses in judgment or false, ludicrous statements he makes on Egriz. He has some real LOLs though, especially the line "maybe the NCAA ended up in Missoula because they didn't have a map." Boy, what a doozy.

He lives in denial, so don't count on an adult conversation about what took place, but I wish you well on your quest for the truth against Everett Griz.

Here's a solution: Don't break the NCAA rules. How does that sound?

And before all of you pile on saying "schools break the rules ALL OF THE TIME!," show me examples and subsequent punishments (or not) to follow them. I'll be waiting.

You could just hit the ignore button, but I appreciate the attention you give me, Granite. The truth hurts, but I have to tell it.

Jerry,
I don't think anyone has suggested it is alright for anyone to break the rules. Even our beloved Griz. I think the prevailing sentiment is "finish it up, give us any punishment, and let us fix it." At least that is my sentiment. I have always said that they may not find what they were initially looking for, but they sure are not going to leave empty handed. If the NCAA sets up camp at any university in the United States, they are going to find violations. They may be small, they may be big, but no one is going to get away without some sort of findings of wrongdoing. Part of it is the way the system is set up. Many fans are just ignorant and don't realize something may be a violation. But the NCAA has a huge ego and is not going to leave without finding something.

Grizatwork - I agree with you 100%. I have never defended what the NCAA is doing in Missoula. I think it is patently unfair. I think what they did to Penn State was also ridiculous and without precedent. They demolished the program with very little justification and with passion and outrage. Those are poor moods to be in when making a serious decision like the NCAA did with Penn State.

I think the entire violation process is out of control, as well. I know the NCAA doesn't want to get down the slippery slope of SMU, but this kind of monitoring is a waste of time and money. I am not a fan of UM, but I hope they don't find anything in Missoula. I dislike the NCAA much, much more than the U of M.

So how bout that Brekke kid? Good kid. Stud athlete. Best of luck to him with the Cats.
Thanks, good sir.
I've heard good things about him, could be the next Adrian Peterson/OJ Simpson. Heard he also saved a kitten from a burning tree, while it was snowing, uphill both ways. Good dude.

What do you think I did genius?

I am not putting Brekke down and I do not care why he want to go to msu. And I have never typed (until now) or thought "ah, we did not want him anyways".

I just believe he is making a big mistake if his goal is to play RB.
His best positions are in this order.

S
CB
WR
Returner
RB

But if he wants a shot at RB, UM is not the place for him to go, not with what is already at and coming to UM. Best of luck to him...
