GRIZ #5

All I know is that when I am really confident in the Griz, I get let down, and when I am really worried that we are not as good as we think, they prove me wrong again.

Right now, I am feeling uneasy about this weekend. Which is good, but then that is bad.

I am so confused. Can't wait for Saturday.

"I see some talk over on anygivensaturday.com of people saying they think the Griz are ranked too high. Any thoughts on that?"

I see that as a possibility and I certainly don't think we should be any "higher" at this point. I haven't watched many of the top 25 teams play this season so it's hard for me to say. I guess that's why this playoff thing is so great. May the better team win.......and advance.

That's the great thing about playoffs. One way or another, come playoff time, we'll see.

Given the number of one and two loss teams in the top 14, it would be odd if fans weren't questioning Montana. If you're 14, you probably can't argue against 9-2 EWU, a team that knocked an early top 25 FBS. Montana is about as high as you can aim.

Ranked here, ranked there? this is all nonsense. If we beat the Cats in Bozeman on Saturday we get a first round bye. A lot of folks on here talk like this is a given game, I'm a bit older and know that Cat/Griz is not a regular game. Throw out the records and rack em and crack em, and then we will see who is and who isn't.

I roll GRIZ until they put me on the other side of the grass. GO GRIZ!

I don't know if they're ranked too high, I just don't think there are a lot of really good FCS teams this year, after the top few there is a lot of parity and teams with multiple losses who have stumbled at one time or another, really there are 4 teams in the top 16 with 3 or more losses...that seems unusual.

I agree that after those top 3ish teams there is parity in the FCS that we are not used to seeing. However, I honestly do not believe this team is the 5th best team in the country after watching them for 11 games. Sure, there are brief moments where things seem to click and everything is looking good. But there are just as many, if not more, times that the offence gets stagnant, and the defense doesn't look like they could hold Bozeman high under 30. Call it a lack of urgency, bad playcalling, poor execution by the players - call it whatever but at the end of the day they are inconsistent to say the least. And consistency is the difference between a good team and a great team.
I don't know... But to me it's college football.... A game played by kids.... A great game.... yet.... unless you're ND State, at least to this point... everything you mention above happens to most every college team all season long. In the end it's wins and losses. At least in the FCS we have the playoffs.

Nice to be in the top 5 again. As much as I have been a critic of coaching (and I still am) I need to give kudos to the 9-2 record.
Question/comment, are the cats ranked too high and after the cats lose on Sat. they will be 7-5, thus good chance not ranked. Talk about a fall.

Absolutely, positively, 100% spot ON. We here act like those things only happen to the Griz.

Plus you add in the injuries and sickness that come this time of year. I'm older so I can sure say that I don't want to be hit or do any hitting when I have flu like symptoms. Lots of these kids have been sick on both sides of the divide. Plus the accumlation of injuries that are starting to take their toll after playing this many games.

Football is a marathon and teams ebb and flow. Kids have good days and bad days. Some teams do not really jell until near the end of the season. I think it is useless to talk about a game like the NAU game and say that they are better than us because we lost that game. I'm sure both teams have changed in some way, maybe for the better, maybe for the worse.

Line'm up and let'm play. And hope like heck we are healthy, injury free and hungry.

Go Griz!!!

Why do you guys insist on calling them kids? That's so ridiculous. Does it make you feel mature and distinguished? Most of the MEN on the field are educated experienced men. They have gone through difficulties and hardships including one being accused of rape and facing jail time being tried as an adult but you call them kids. Seriously? Wtf

I mean their argument for them maybe being beaten or maybe winning is that they're "kids" it's disrespectful and half these "kids" are twice the size of anyone on here. It seems stupid to call them kids. They're not kids by any stretch

My son is 19, living on his own, 1000 miles away from me and going to college. He's still a kid.
