GRIZ #5

And Please don't tell me your all caught up in the FCS rankings which mean nothing coming into this sundays playoffs seedings. C,mon, you know those are just the media. The Griz are really around 10-14 in playoff brackets. jus being real. I love the Griz and Cats, but winner maybe IN, and Loser OUT, do the MATH.

I only skimmed thru all these posts, But I get where the Griz fans are coming from. So lets just say that EWU/NAU/Griz all win this weekend. That puts EWU and NAU tied for BSC title. EWU gets auto-bid for SOS. NAU at #2 in BSC due to WIN over UM. That puts UM at #3 in BSC standings at 10-2, great fricking record, but will it be enough to get them in a top 8 ranking?? I don't think so being a #3 out of BSC. Even if NAU losses, the Griz and NAU still have the same conference record at 2 losses, and the Griz lost to NAU. My opinion, no matter what, the Griz will NOT be in the top 8 at 10-2, call ne crazy!!

You may be right, but in order to properly analyze the situation, you need to look at who the top 8 seeds will be. Here are the top 25 teams ranked under the top 5. Who would be the rest of the top 8? McNeese lost to NI 41-6 and to SELa. Towson has lost to Vill and Del and still has JMU. SELa lost to TCU and SDS. I suppose they are deserving. Coastal hasn't played a tough schedule and lost to Cha So and has So Car to play. Maybe, but weak schedule. Fordham lost to Lafayette last week, has Colgate to play, and beat Temple by 1, but Temple has beaten only Army this year. Very weak schedule. NAU isn't getting much respect in the polls. Maybe the committee won't respect them either.

6. McNeese State Cowboys 9-2
7. Towson Tigers 9-2
8. Southeastern Louisiana Lions 9-2
9. Sam Houston State Bearkats 8-3
10. Northern Arizona Lumberjacks 8-2
11. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 10-1
12. Fordham Rams 10-1
13. Montana State Bobcats 7-4
14. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 9-2
15. Youngstown State Penguins 8-3
16. South Dakota State Jackrabbits 7-4
17. Lehigh Mountain Hawks 8-2
18. Charleston Southern Buccaneers 10-2

First, EWU will win the Big Sky Outright with a win this weekend due to NAU's conference loss against MSU.

And second, seeding has nothing to do with conference record. The Griz will most likely have a seed if they win on Saturday and be in the top 8. :thumb:

I see you logic, But can the Griz really nake a top 8 seed as a #3 in the BSC. I hope they can, but just don't think so!

Chill dude. Seriously who gives a rip if someone calls them kids, men, boys, young men etc.?
I mean their argument for them maybe being beaten or maybe winning is that they're "kids" it's disrespectful and half these "kids" are twice the size of anyone on here. It seems stupid to call them kids. They're not kids by any stretch

a) you have no idea how large some of these posters are...
b) Since when did we start measuring "kids" by size? :? :? :?

What do you measure kids by because I'm sure most of them don't follow any definition you could put forth.

Well, the mere fact that they're large and they play football certainly doesn't qualify them to be "adults". They have almost ZERO life experience, many have never held a paying job, they have yet to experience the real world....in other words...they're kids.

10-2 Griz will beat 8-3 nau even if that extra loss is fbs and only 11 games by nau.... Big sky records not as important cuz unbalanced big sky schedule like nau not playing ew.. eastern is unbeaten in Big sky so they get title outright. Griz and nau tie for 2nd cuz unbalanced schedule means its not a tiebreaker that nau beat the Griz. Its the whole season AND overall record not just where you are in Big sky standings

Wrong again, last year, Cats were 10-1 and EWU was 9-2, but beat the Cats head to head and got the #2 seed. Try a different logic. Panhandle state, UND and APP ST, non conference pussies don't and will not cut a top 8 seed, SORRY!!

UM is now top 10, or higher. Sorry, 10-14 isn't accurate. I couldn't find the most recent GPI, but UM was 11th last week, and 3 teams above it lost. The GPI is often a fairly good predictor of playoff selection.

Just don't see how UM could possibly drop out of playoffs with a loss to the Cats, unless perhaps it was an incredible blowout. A 9-3 team with losses only to 3 playoff teams, 2 of which are seeds, is not going to get left out. Why don't you do the math, as well as the analysis.

1.) EWU wins the conference outright with a win Talon

2.) Player makes a good point here, lots to be determined still though.

Seeds are as follows

NDSU is #1

EWU, EIU, Maine, and SELA are all in the mix for #2-#5

Towson, Mcneese, NAU, and the Griz are in the mix for 6-8, with Coastal and Fordham an outside chance if those teams lose.

It most likely comes down to NAU or the Griz for the 7 or 8 seed. 3 Big Sky teams won't be seeded. If the Griz win and NAU loses, its a no brainer, same the other way around. If both win, its a tough call. NAU has the head to head but I do think the Griz are a better team.

We will find out soon enough

A loss by the UM and a win by SUU could easily leave out the Griz by the math and by the analysis. Its time to quit overlooking SUU. I'm not saying it will happen, just that it could and could easily be justified.

You're really worried about if the Griz get a seed or not, aren't you?

NAU was an early season loss on the road. Then they lost badly at MSU. We barely lost to EWU, but that was at home. After we beat MSU on the road this weekend, we are a seeded team, no question. The only question is whether it could possibly be a top 4 seed if Maine were to lose to NH.
A bigger question for me is what would happen if the Griz and NAU were to both lose. That would make EWU and SUU in for sure, NAU likely in with UM/MSU bubble teams.

Ok guys, been fun, but I'm in London and got to call it a night, just so you know I'm not quiting on the thread, been up like 29 hours. Talk more tomorrow. Lastly, I do hope the Griz get a ranking, but my opinion is even with a win, they will not. More in about 24 hours from Talon.

A 9-3 team, with losses to 3 playoff teams, including a several point loss to a top seed, is not going to get left out of the playoffs.
