LadyGriz Former Lady Griz Battle - Carroll v. Western

I follow the Lady Griz. They are 19-7, on the verge of the first 20-win season in 8 years. They are fun to watch. Not sure how the tournament will go, but it has been a good season and they seem well-coached.

I don’t follow former Lady Griz players, but wish them the best of luck. Sort of like Daniel Britt (or, better yet, Gresch Jensen) in FB. There are many more examples. I hope the best for former student athletes who leave but, as a UM alum and fan, engaging in what-ifs detracts from focusing on my support for UM.

Looking forward to Boise.

Who’s donated to the new women’s basketball locker room. Let’s see a show of hands. Let’s say $500 or above.

I have. 2 years running. This year to be included in the Match deal, so mine was doubled. Much more than $500.

I figured you would have already donated. The match caught my attention too. I didn't realize that the women's locker room had never been done.

I fully expected Hoops/Jack to pose that question since he is such a "fan" of Lady Griz basketball and especially the Head Coach. I for one think it is time to look forward and be positive about the Lady Griz and wish them well in the upcoming tourney. At the same time I wish Pickens, Keller, Albrecht, Murphy and Momberg good luck and I am quite sure they are very happy where they are and they are not dwelling on the past. I also am glad that Hoops is part of E-Griz, I don't often agree with what he says but i think he adds a lot to the conversations and I respect his perspective

I think its wonderful that those girls had someone honestly assess their abilities and where those abilites could be utilized. I am sure they are forever grateful for Coach H's guidance. They make great NAIA players and are getting a chance to shine among other girls who have similar abilities and levels of athletisism. Its a win-win.

Lady Griz are at a 90 net ranking (as of 2/20). Coach H has them on the right track. Hope they can finish the season strong. Lots of buzz around the positive culture and program he is building. He may actually get the program back to being a mid major power.
Yes, and so glad to see Albrecht, get playing time, an excellent player! I thought her injury at UM set her back aways, just my observation. Good basketball head, dangerous shooter!

Agree. Lady Griz have 20 wins for first time in 8 years. They are scrappy and fun to watch. Almost beat EWU, a very good team. I like the trend and look forward to the tournament.

The 20 wins are great. The style of play is great. What I love most is hearing how much the players love the program, their positive experience within the program, and the positive culture the head coach has made priority number 1. Really hope they have a great tourney.

Note that Mouse is the one who brought up this topic in the last day or two. I am not one to let loser posts go by. I assume the former players are good where they are and not dwelling in the past, but I would doubt that many of them have warm feelings for the coach who pushed them out.

It is well-known that I provide terrific info including some good inside info. Also, that I was more right on Griz football this season than any other poster. Some others got some things right too, but no one took on the neggies and Cat trolls like I did. I chuckle when I get messages from people I may have tangled with, asking me for my views and info. Even they know who knows what's going on and who has reliable info. Your info, while infrequent, is often good too.

It looks like 3 of us donated more than $500 to the LG locker room. Money is certainly as important as obsessive and (so far) unfounded cheerleading for a coach who didn't produce anything of significance in this first 2 seasons. Maybe this is the one finally advances the ball. 20 wins, so far, is terrific. Playing like they did against the Cats was terrific too. The announcers said UM may draw Idaho in the first round. That would seem to be easily winnable.

Hoopsfan could save a lot of typing if he'd were more succinct:

1) I don't like the new coach. He cut a few players I liked, I can't ogle over him like I used to Shannon, her daughters and the Dance Team. I gave up my tickets.

2) I'm my own biggest fan/poster!

3) I've got some money and brag about it more than pretty much any other person any of you know!

I was never a Shannon fan. Mouse is jealous because he didn’t accomplish much on or off the field-court, and isn’t as big of a supporter of Griz football. I have never said I have “some” money. I subscribe to the Texas view. If it’s true, it ain’t braggin. Going to major sporting events, traveling the world, and doing fun things everyday, is a nice retirement. Going to Giants game today with a bunch of people in my family and my wife’s, after a bike ride and some time at the pool. Then dinner in Old Town. May try to catch up with O’Day and Pflu.

Truth. End of Discussion.

And you never played a college varsity game in any sport. Again, I'd love to see Murphy and Momberg join Carroll, and see Carroll play and beat the LG. Carroll lost to the Cats by 10 in November, before the Cats had all their injuries. In early Jan., the LG lost to the Cats by 9.

Holsinger had Murphy right in front of him, and then brought in a bunch of lunch meet the first year. What kind of coach cuts 6 players, and replaces them with a bunch of weak players. It would be different if he'd brought in good new players.

Hopefully, the new coach will get his team and act together soon. But he sure hasn't done or shown much in his first 2 years. I can't believe that some of you keep making excuses for him.
Coach H told me to give you his regards. He and his assistants know all about your behind-the-scenes efforts to subterfuge his tenure. I'm sure most of us agree that the year you took your ball and went home, was the best year in discussing Grizzly basketball on this board. Unfortunately, things had to come to an end. But the victim hood quest continues. Kinda sad for a grown man who is not even a UM alum, but thinks he should have a say in what occurs with our athletics. A glaring example of the very worst in over-reach from boosters who believe they have the right to dictate decisions.

My question is, how many years will we be required to read your updates on the NAIA victims of our head BB coach?

Not sure I have seen a poster as butt hurt as hoops is about Holsinger sending Momberg packing. Can't wait until he starts spouting that Box Elder could beat the LG.

It's all about the victimization mantra regarding Indians not getting a fair shake. He somehow feels the need to advance that narrative over-and-over again. Without being specific, the Lady Griz coaching staff knows all about him. There is nothing more dangerous to a college athletic program than having a booster trying to influence decisions by threatening to withhold future donations if he doesn't get his way.
