Getting "cut" by the ruthless new coach seems to have worked out for her too.

Pickens chose to leave after the first coaching change. Murphy chose to leave due to the second coaching change. I think Murphy made the right decision because I don't she would be as good in a live by the 3, die by the 3 offense.
Bruno has started the majority of the season (85% of games to be exact, every game until she missed with injury), so they’ll return three players who started the majority of the season.mthoopsfan said:TrueGriz said:Pickens chose to leave after the first coaching change. Pickens plays for Carroll. One of my discussions is whether Carroll would be the LG, with Murphy and Momberg. I'm not aware Murphy was given a choice. Murphy is a sold rebounder.
After 3 years, of the current starters, the LG have 2 players brought in by the prior coaches (and the 2 best players), 2 players who will be out of eligibility, and 1 other coming back. Only 2 of the 5 return. Maybe the bench is incredibly strong, but that sure doesn't show me that the new coach brought in a bunch of new good players (after 6 players moved on in his first week or two). Maybe this will be the year, when the LG finally win a conference game and even make big noise, but the early cheerleading for the coach and continued excuses by some, defy gravity. He needs to produce. The team is on a nice roll and playing well. Maybe they have finally hit their stride and the 3's will keep falling.

Huard has a chance to be a star, but I think much of next season will depend on the progression of the post players and who Holsinger brings in through the portal. And the return of the 5 injured players.

How many conference tourney games will LG win?
One would hope at least one to make it to the semifinals. I don’t believe the Lady Griz have made the semifinals since winning the tournament in 2014-15.mthoopsfan said:OregonStateFan said:Bruno has started the majority of the season (85% of games to be exact, every game until she missed with injury), so they’ll return three players who started the majority of the season.

We know Pickens plays for Carroll. Also know she wasn't cut by Holsinger over Zoom. What's does Pickens not wanting to play for Petrino have to do with Holsinger?
I believe only 2 of the 6 "cut" players ever touched a court again. Momberg and Murphy. They've done pretty well. Good for them. The others must not have had enough "stuff" to play anywhere.
Carroll would never "be" (Ivy League?) the Lady Griz. They will always "be" Carroll. Murphy may be a "sold" (Ivy?) rebounder but Bartsch is a "solid" one who's better.
You should change your name to "SchweyenRep"!

Murphy averages 2.5 rebounds a game. Bartsch averages 9.9 rebounds. Murphy could be a "sold" rebounder, but Bartsch is an outstanding rebounder. Murphy's "Sold" rebounding is more comparable to Marxen's 2.2 rebounding average and Maggie's 2.1 rebounding average.

mthoopsfan a few questions.
1. What is your goal? When I look back it seems it has been to defend players who are no longer with the team or bad mouth the coach. So I ask, what is your goal?
2. I appreciate you are passionate about players who have left, but could you show the same passion and move your energy towards being positive about the players who are currently on the team?
3. The comparison doesn't matter. Why would you like to see Carroll play the LG, what would you gain? What if they lost, what would you say? What if they won, would you feel vindicated in all of your bashing of the current team and coach? Cheer on those who left and cheer on those who are present.
The tone of your posts feel like someone who carries a grudge, needs to be right, is bitter and is generally looking to break down people and teams.
Can I make a suggestion. Since you are so high on Carroll and past players, why don't you go join those teams boards and use all of your energy to encourage, lift up and tell them how much you believe in them.
Your voice is getting old and your perseveration about the past makes it seems you are stuck in the past. I heard something once, when you have a foot in the past and a foot in the future (focus on playoff wins) you are pissing on the present. It seems that is all you are really interested in, pissing on the present. Why don't you just enjoy this team, the players who are on it, support the coach and see what happens. It feels like they are headed the right direction generally and have had increasing success, in college basketball that seems like something most "fans" of the team could get behind...but maybe your aren't a fan and ultimately that defines your goals...
