With all respect to the history of the Griz program, some of you need a reality check.

Classless? Keep in mind the allegations facing your program right now. I'm not saying you're admin did what they're said to have done, but c'mon, let's not throw the "classless" moniker around.

This is especially true when your evidence of classlessness is some exuberent kids chanting something after the game, or the placement of your band. I mean, really, not every school in the Big Sky has Montana kind of money behind their program. And yet, with all that money and big stadium and attitude of being "Boise State with Better Academics," your team is getting beat by NAU and Eastern and Appalachian State in a down year.

Fans charging the field when the #7 ranked team beat the number 23 ranked team, and then chanting FTG which was picked up on ROOT, what a bunch of dumbasses! Act like you have won a game before, you did not just upset Alabama, you fan probably did not even charge the field when you had playoff wins in 2010. And to top it all off your Sisqo looking QB crying after the game!!! You guys by far are the worst fans in the whole BSC!!!

Funny, I heard several (Griz) fans comment on "how cool that was" that they were so excited to beat us that they rushed the field and a couple wondered why we didn't have that kind of enthusiasm.

Didn't you guys rush the field against App St in the playoffs a couple years ago...seeing that it was in WA/Griz stadium, i'd guess you were the higher ranked team then huh??? I know it was an Epic game, but....

That was a semifinal game.The winner went to the championship. Big difference!

It was a playoff game, for gawd's sake. Rushing the field after a big playoff win seems like a pretty appropriate action.
FWIW, I have no problem with you Eagles fans rushing the field yesterday. Why not? But, it was just a regular season conference game ....

Hadn't ever been to a game at EWU. Was nervous because I had heard all this smack on this board about bad fans, bad field, bad facilities, bad experiences. You know, people find what they're looking for. I didn't get so much as a cross look from an Eagles fan. A few college kids yelling out the car window after the game - big deal! Everybody I came in contact with at at the stadium was friendly. Went to dinner in Cheney after the game and was treated nice. What I saw was a team with a small fan base due to competition (though if I were a Coug, I'd go watch the Eagles :lol: ) showing pride, doing the best they can to create a good atmosphere and doing a good job of it. I'll go back. I just wish they'd get some more bathrooms and concessions.

I agree with Alpha everything about EWU sucks. Shitty stadium, stitty fans, bloody tampon of a field. Call me a poor loser (I am) but charging the field like they just advanced to the chipper is stupid, get over yourselves it was one game and the Cats will probably bring you back to earth anyway. (I hate myself for saying that). Ok Griz now it is time to run the table like last year, 7 and 4 won't cut it for playoffs IMHO.

Its not like I just say this shit for no reason, they are classless loudmouth douchbags.


That being said they kicked our ass beat us in every phase of the game and the better team won.

EWU won its over and it already seems like last week to me.

They did not kick our ass in every phase of the game, did we not have 3 players with over 100 yards rushing. Plus we had over 400 yards of total rushing.

They beat us in the only phase that ever counts. The scoreboard at the end of the game. End of story. Moral victories are for YMCA Soccer.

Nice post. We Griz fans have become very spoiled over the years with all of the advantages that we have in terms of support, accolades about game day experience and even our teams success. EWU is trying to raise their university football program to the level that we have. I appluad them for that. Don't whine about the BSC being small time because they have to play in front of 6000 fans some weekends and then demean them for trying to raise the level of excitement and game day experience.

I hated watching their fans storm the field but it wasn't because they were classless. It was because we had the game in hand and found a way to make it possible for them to get to storm the field. It was a great come back. One that I hope every Griz player, coach and fan don't want to experience again. Learn, improve and see that it doesn't happen again. Go Griz! :thumb:

Mt head Guy, I do find the spitting act on regional television to be offensive and a bad representation of Montana football and therefore feel he should be severely punished including dismissal.
That being said, my comments are aimed at those obnoxious cat fans that will post negatively about the least little thing that may happen to the Griz. I have grown tired and frustrated with them. Fans like 2506 and msuhunter are good examples. There are some cat posters that come on this site and are constructive and responsible. ILTC and to a degree Opti Prime come to mind.
You can bet your house if ir was a Griz that had been penalized and ejected for spitting there are certain cat fans that would be all over this board making illogical comments.

I feel the need to make mention of this incident. I am not gonna stand up for Big John and what he did; he lost control of emotions and he deserved to be ejected from the game. But I do want to point the series of events that led up to that. I watched the game and DVR'd it, and watched that play over several times. Right before the spitting incident, a scrum for the ball took place. The SUU player that got spit on clearly and intentionally drives Big John's head into the turf. He then stands up and first grabs John by the neck, and then grabs John's shoulder pads and starts pulling him from the pile (keep in mind -- if you tackled a guy in the same manner that this happened it would be called a horse-collar tackle with a 15 yard penalty associated). Big John stands up and as the ref tries to separate the two, the SUU player continues to shove John, and even makes a lame attempt to take a swing at him. All of this while the ref is watching and no flag. John loses control of his emotions and spits on the SUU player. Now, again, I don't condone John's actions. But you can see how in the heat of the moment a young, 19 year man can lose control and do something that I am sure he regrets. Before you are so quick to judge, put yourself in those shoes.
