Anyone want to discuss a griz coach, player or recruit in depth?

Great posts everyone. No fighting and bickering. Just opinions and football. Love it. DL is a breath of fresh air with some good insights. I for one don't know what to think on QB issue. I am a GJ fan and would feel bad if he lost the job. I also like the fact of a mobile QB like Snead. Look at the Stick fellow at NDSU. He gets them out of a lot of trouble with his wheels. Gresch is pretty football savy though. It's a nice problem to have and pretty sure your going to see both on the field for awhile into the season. DL I like your posts but can you just try and slow down your thoughts to typing and punctuate. Lol. It's all good! Makes me really use my brain to decipher it sometimes. Keep up the good insights everyone. Love reading them.

This is meant to be an honest question and not meant to stir up some big hornets nest. Let's say hypothetically the Dutchman is correct and Sneed beats out Jensen. Would it be in Jensen's best interest to transfer out before the first game? If Sneed is #1, barring injury, he would likely retain that position next year as well. That leaves Jensen, after all his freshman accolades, with potentially only one year to start unless he counts on an injury and I don't think that is in his DNA to wish injury on a teammate. If he left he would have to sit a year (correct?) but would have 2 left to build on. Seems like it would have to be on his mind wouldn't it? I don't think he would have much trouble finding a scholarship elsewhere.

Not sure transferring before game 1 would help. Wouldn’t this still be counted as his second year of playing? I don’t know the answer.

He had a redshirt year.

“Dutch” yep that’s my nick name, do you think it’s funny? Does it make you laugh? You don’t have the nuts to engage with me about grizzly football. Go fuck yourself. Not sure what the message is you are trying to convey, why are you mocking my nick name because once again I think you neglected to read the initial posts on this thread remember this isn’t Vietnam there are rules and the purpose of this thread was an attempt to go through the roster and discuss grizzly players, recruits and coaches with real knowledgeable, sincere grizzly fans. I gotta say I’m pretty underwhelmed by the experience. Im not sad or angry I’m just disappointed that i make the effort to try and engage with what I thought would be like minded griz fanatics and you get attacked and mocked in a very subtle condensing way by some smug dickhead tucked safely behind his keyboard, and fellas I’m 6-3 and weigh 225, so you should stay behind your key boards. I’m thinking of starting a thread for new egriz members like myself so we can post without getting picked off by guys like Ursa Major, and his autofallcio riff, for simply trying to talk about grizzly football on a website that is supposed to be dedicated to all things grizzly. What a pathetic joke this has turned out to be. The irony for me is I had the most gratifying thread and chat with a MSU guy about Troy Andersen and I got attacked and mocked and called a jerk for ruining a thread. It wasn’t broken and I gave it back. So then I post a thread so I can keep talking to the MSU guy about an incredible Montana grown athlete because I found him to be really invested and knowledgeable and it was really enjoyable. That’s the level of discourse I was expecting when I started this thread. I have tried to be polite in my posting and have attempted some levity that didn’t go ober well, but I will still try and be polite and respectful in my future post because that’s the way I was raised and how I matriculated at the U. So in closing any of you smug motherfuckers feel the need to mock me or personally disparage me for my opinion you can all go piss off. I’m here for the football and not to be mocked about my “social filter” our my spelling or syntax or grammar or any other inane thing about my posts unrelated to frizzly football. You fellas are just a disappointing nuisance to try to negotiate around and away from. Ok that’s all got. Thanks.

Howdy, "Just saying"~~ This Frenchtown kid Jace Klucewich is the real deal.As a freshman last week he won every sprint and the long jump in his, first ever, track meet. His times and distance lead the state in all classes, at this time. My son ,Doug, is his personal trainer (Lefler Strength Sport) also worked with past Grizzlies Coyle, Tripp. Wagenmann and Holmes. Jace played football on a high school club team in Seattle( as an 8th grader) at safety, last year. He has won MVP awards at tournaments back East and will garner much attention this year in football at Frenchtown. His dad Josh played football (DB) for the Grizzlies a few years back. He has FBS ability and has been contacted by FBS schools already. I would hope that we send a calling card to this kid and try to get him headed our way as soon as possible. The PAC 12 schools watch this club league and have contacted Jace already so hopefully we get on him as soon as possible! My son thinks he has as much talent as anyone he has ever trained! I personally watched him climb a 2' rope to the ceiling and back from a sitting position... Nobody does that except him and Darren DeCoite. Jace's workout buddy who's dad, Dave is also an ex Griz safety. Go Griz! I'll be watching Jace and keeping you posted...All my kids went to Frenchtown. Go Broncs! Go Griz!

Thanks your post is really appreciated. I was a lawyer once but got in a severe car accident in the winter driving to a criminal jury trial in Missoula in front of judge McLean a couple of years ago. I suffered a traumatic brain injury or a “tbi” which has affected my ability to accurately articulate my thoughts to a keyboard, it made me kind of dyslectic and my mind races and it causes me to sometimes repeat myself or jumble words and obviously I over post and make them to long which I am finding out irritates others for some reason which perplexes me because most of my post are about grizzly football. I don’t have a secretary anymore and I type on a small pad and I have big fingers and spell check drives me crazy. So I will try to clean things up. Thank you. I’ll bite. Sneed May have speed on Gresch but that’s it, well maybe hair too. From what I’ve heard of the limited news we get out of the current regime, Gresch took his #1 fault and has really focused on improving his foot work. Plus Gresch has the QB tangibles that you can’t teach kids. His intelligence level of the game is high. His composure in the pocket and with his teams back against the wall are outstanding. He appears to have no fear and the gunslinger mentality that a lot of great QB’s have also. I think Dalton will make a fine back up but Gresch will be QB1 when all is said and done.

Disagree. Having been to a few practices - - I would be shocked if Sneed isn’t the starter going into fall camp. He’s a big time player who knows exactly what Hauck and Rosenbach want from their QB.

Jensen has to improve his footwork in a major way to beat out Sneed.

"AGAIN!" I wish you people would get off this Sneed vs Jensen bullshit! Who is #1 and who is #2 means very little! They can both make each other better in a big way! I hope all concerned down on the field don't pay one bit of attention to you!!! I have the utmost trust that coach Hauck and Rosey have this all taken care of and the one vs. two doesn't mean squat! Rosey is their position coach and a damn good one! I know what ever happens will be the best for the Grizzlies and I WILL SUPPORT IT 100% Competition at every position is more important than the dept chart.. I know battles are going on all over the field. No difference! Every time you have a coaching change some people try to pit the old vs. the new... This is counter productive! I support what ever the coaches decide! I'm sure if JLM isn't playing when and where the old school wants that will be an issue as well but again I will defer to the coaching staff! I know whoever lines up behind center will be a damn good QB in what order I COULD CARE LESS!!!More times than not the one that finishes the game means more than the one that started it!Too many stinking bobkats on this site!
Go Griz

i_t_s over on QB so I guess RB would be next to talk about next. Lee and Calhoun are known commodities and Green and Moses are up and comers with Eastwood joining the band.
I would say Moses may be a breakout player much like McGee two years ago at WR. Moses may not get the most touches at RB, but may have the most memorable. He is dynamic with great vision and ability to change direction makes him special. Lee looks like a Pac 12 RB, solid.

Can anyone answer PR's question? Does participating in winter conditioning and spring drills constitute a year of eligibility? Looks like both Jensen and Sneed have talent but sometimes too much talent sitting on the bench for two years can be a two-edged sword.

I've watched the majority of practices this spring and I in no way believe anyone could make that definitive of a statement about either guy being head and shoulders above the others.

I totally agree two quality seasoned quarterbacks who both have high level skills. This is really unique like a perfect storm and here we are stitt is gone and Jensen is still here and then Bobby, Rossy and Snead roll into town, and then they scrambled to compress all kinds of stuff to get ready for spring, they barely made it. Now out of the chaos we have a beautiful quarterback competition (chose not to call it a controversy.). I still believe Snead will be 1, but that doesn’t make it any less interesting and really compelling. This is top level stuff which we should acknowledge for what it is pure, mano a mano, head to head, one on one, last man standing celelbration of quarterback skills. Enjoy the competition griz nation out time is coming. That was probably a little over the top but some times I do get a kick out of myself. Lol

I heard the rap on Jensen is his foot work, whereas Sneed has it down. I also understand that Sneed is not the team favorite which makes sense seeing how Jensen led the team last year. Interesting to see how the various dynamics play out and how Hauck and Sneed do trying to win the team over, if Sneed does start ahead of Jensen. I guess that’s why Hauck gets paid the big bucks.

I heard the rap on Sneed is his completion percentage!

I’m not sure why but I just get the feeling that Sneed is going be Haucks and Rossy’s guy. Probably because of the history, if though it was pretty limited. And they maybe thinking Jensen’s time will come. That would be pretty hard to take. From Sneed and the coaches point off view maybe they are thinking we have no emotional attachment to last season. But I see the problem is that everyone else does. That is going to be hard to shake. From Sneeds perspective he’s coming in as the hired gun to take over. Could breed some resentment. Does anyone think in this age of finally getting in touch with our feelings this gets overplayed? Did old school players not have resentments and emotional hurts that prevented them from being successful as teammates? It’s funny to think how Vince L. Would have reacted if Starr or Jerry Kramer had got there feelings hurt or resented a coach or teammate. Anyway can’t shake the feeling that Sneed is the guy, but it won’t be made official until next fall, so that will limit the time the resentment will fester. I’m relying on my psych classes from my time at the Harvard of the West here people. I didn’t really like mayfield but he grew on me when I learned his story walking on at Texas tech and then walking on at OK and getting arrested in Fayetteville. Barry Switzer was asked what he thought about mayfields arrest and how it made the Sooners look. Switzer laughed and said well it don’t bother me because I got arrested in fayetteville when I was in college. Who hasn’t been jacked up by the cops when they were in college. I was at u of m in the early 80’s and the policing back then was pretty Wild West you would get harassed but it took a lot to get arrested, unless you went over to Bozeman for the cat-griz. Now with MADD and way higher drinking age, MIP’s, I don’t know anyone who got one of those, it was mostly pour it out, social media all college guys are on the microscope. Sorry digressing, anyway that’s all I got. Thanks

What history? Just the recruiting process if I am thinking properly, don’t think he ever practiced or played for either coach, I’m not sure he even signed his letter of intent to play for either coach!
