I didn't want to comment about Schmidt because I didn't want to give him anymore attention but he's a clown. I actually played a lot of ball and on all the teams I've played on, we always had a guy like him. The guys like myself and others who actually started and played called guys like him PRETENDERS. They live in this pretend world where they think they should be the starter and in his case, he probably thought he should've been starting in front of Chase Reynolds. They actually think that they could've done just as good or even better than the guy who's starting(Reynolds) if given the chance.
I played way before him so I didn't know him personally or even heard of him until Colter had him on his show. But during Griz/Cat week we all went out drinking the night after the game and ran into some of the guys who played with him that actually were starters. After drinking a few I just happened to ask, do you guys know this Schmidt guy who's on Colters show and they all laughed. Long story short, they all said he's a clown. I'm not going to go in detail of what they really said because I don't want to get banned on here. Not one of them had anything positive to say about the guy. Not one, oh yeah he was an awesome teammate.
The reason I bring this up is because PRETENDERS act like this and then call it a BIT for views and clicks. And that's completely fine and I honestly don't have an issue with Colter or what he does. I actually enjoy his interviews and have been vocal about the ones with Tripp and how good that one is.
So basically Schmidt is pretending to being something he's not on Colter's show. But when does a bit get moronic and just not funny. And the main thing I had a problem with is the amount of shit he talked about Hauck. Because nobody I played with would dare talk shit about the HC they played for. It wouldn't even cross any of our minds to go on YouTube, a podcast or twitter to bad mouth my Coach whether it be for a bit or in a joking way. Nobody I know that has played the game or that I've personally played with would think that is a great idea. And while it might get you views, clicks and likes from the other pretenders out there, to the former players who played for the Griz don't think it's funny at all. Regardless if the team is winning or losing, we want to support the team, HC no matter what
Colter, like I said I never had an issue with you and I love watching you. But go back and watch all your episodes with Schmidt and look at all the times he's bad mouthed Hauck, any of the players or the Griz and tell me that's ok. And every bit like every joke has some truth to it. Meaning, he may call it a bit to get away with saying all that negativity about our coach and team and say oh I'm just joking,, it's for views and clicks. But to some of us former players who actually give a fuck and care about the program would never talk shit about it whether it be for fun or jokingly.
