EGRIZ froze up about the time he tried to post, at least on my PC, hence the three posts.

Not a delany fan....but this is also true. If he does this, he will deserve a big kudos.PlayerRep said:If the team makes it to the playoffs and makes some noise there, it could end up being the best coaching job in UM history.

He performed heroically in this game. He & Peter did great in the game. Ok, ok, Peter did fumble later, but he & JC got the Griz into the red zone. Notice Dan Moore was not in the game, say, after 1st QTR? Poor coaching? Hell, Peter & Jordan & the OL chewed up the Eagle defense. The only problem in this game was the Griz had no pass rush. Adams had all kinds of time.GRZFTBL said:How soon some forget about 2 fumbles inside the f***[*] 10 yrd line.

That thought is,..... would the Griz have lost the last two games, if the 2011 Coach Of The Year, and the supporting and best AD the university has ever had, were still in place.
Well, the Griz team, and supporting fans will just have to live what has been put in place, not necessarily their first choice, however that is what is in place, by no actions of their own.
Now, coach Delaney has done so far the job I feel he was hired for, and that is not necessarily to win football games, a conference championship, or even a national championship, but to instill discipline and keep the team out of the Missoulian and the newspapers head propagandist. And so far so good.
I admire coach Delaney, a great guy from Butte America, and that a plus, however it has occurred to me has coach Delaney not pursued a head coaching job, by his choice, or is there another reason that he has waited till the twilight of his career for this to occur. Just a thought to examine, not an accusation.
My thoughts on the game, was even with the turnovers, the seasoned coaching staff, prevailed, the Griz team played as hard as could have been expected, they were just let down by coaching decision.
That is just my opinion, not going to Colorado, although see ya all in two weeks in Missoula.
With all that said, Egriz-Chris and his crew where definitely the crowd motivators of the section I was in, never a moment of sitting on their hand, and will without a doubt be horse of the throat and demurring on the game they witness yesterday.
No way of sugarcoating a game with some many emotional highs and lows. The Grizzlies played about as hard as they could, and a new coaching staffs made some blunders that could have although not necessarily made a difference in the game. Unfortunately this loss leaves the Griz in a precarious situation, of unlikely playing for a playoff position, and playing the rest of the season for respectability and maintaining stature for future recruiting.

If Delaney is not your long term solution then the alternative is a new "long term" coach at the end of the season. It has to happen some time. It might as well be before recruiting season gets in "full swing". What are you going to do, wait another year when Delany's contract is up? With that strategy, you lose one more year of "solid" recruits. The move on Delaney is going to happen anyway. Why not sooner than later?

I agree that another contact "pay off" is a problem but waiting another year could be a problem too. Again, Delaney is just "stop gap". You know it and I know it.
