Oh you know, Chip Kelly, Scott Frost, anyone.

It provides a short cut for them vs. being buried among layers of candidates to move up in FBS.HookedonGriz said:That's a huge question at hand....we didn't have mind blowing candidates the last search and I wouldn't expect any mind blowing, proven coaches this go round either. It's probably wishful thinking to think any FBS coordinators would drop their 500k salaries for a 200k salary unless they desperate want to be a head coach. So then what candidates are left? I think many just assume coaches are chomping at the bit to coach here and I don't think that's the case. I'm not thrilled with the results of this staff, but I also see the potential in their youth and what they are HOPING to build. Not sure if they will get there. Also not sure a change won't just set us back another 3 years which really would be the dagger IMO. Therein lies the problem.
I think at this point I'd be okay with Stitt at the helm but some key changes to DC and special teams. I think that's a fair and smart compromise
Youth? Stitt is 53.

Chad Germer has enough experience to be a D-1 head coach now. He has been here under many different coaches, moved on with the successful ones and has come back to Coach the Griz. O-Line is improving under his instruction. He has seen and coached numerous offenses. Has great ties to many Griz football alumni.

Would Haslam hire him is another question? Note that Engstrom and many other senior administrators at UM are gone. Note that Haslam has a lot of important boosters who are going to have more say this time. I don't think Haslam will be able to make the decision by himself, if he is ever faced with the decision. There is a new president coming. I would guess that some big donors and people are already weighing in with Bodnar. They may have more influence than Haslam ends up with.
Hauck could have gone to the NFL as a ST coordinator when he left UM.

Keep wondering this myself, meanwhile people I know that actually know and talk to the man say he would love to come back and correct me if I’m wrong did he not give an interview last summer saying he’d love to “get the band back together”?

No, this is the article where a few posters say he was hinting towards wanting the job again. But he defintiely doesn't say that.
