Another way to look at it:
In the last 25 years, 2 Montana teams have sat home out of the playoffs and watched MSU teams continue on (2010,2012), while in the same time 19 MSU teams have sat home and watched UM teams continue on.
In the same time period 5 Montana teams have been out of the playoffs before EWU, while 17 EWU teams have been out of the playoffs while Montana continued on.
For more recent history, in the last 5 years, 2 MSU & EWU team have gone further than UM, while 3 UM teams went further than MSU & EWU.
We suck.
The ship be sinkin'.
Fire the coaches.
Our players are fat and lazy.
The dynasty is over.
I'm gonna go eat a worm.
Ha ha
but actually I saw it the opposite way - As I saw it, even during the current "down period", every UM graduating class of players have still been competing in the playoffs as long or longer than the other top contenders in the conference, when their entire career is considered. This years graduating class
could be the first since 1987 to not go as far in the playoffs (over their career) as MSU or EWU, but the season is not over yet. When all is said and done this year it could move to 4 of the last 6 years UM has gone further.
