UM No. 1 in Conference Scoring Defense and Red Zone Defense

Facilities....not even gonna entertain that with a response.

Winning....The only national coverage the cats have EVER had has been in the last few years and let me tell you, it's doing anything but helping with recruiting.

Well, that and Montana's worst 3 year run in 3 decades along with Montana States best 3 year run have these key nationally televised pinnacle moments to reflect on...and remember this was in the midst of our worst run ever vs the cats best...

Couple this with Montana's FCS all time record breaking number of wins/playoff victories/playoff appearances/conference titles/semi final wins/national championship appearances and you tell me who the "little brother" is.........

In the unlikely event the Griz continue their uncharacteristic trend of only one semifinal appearance every three years until the end of time thats still one more semi final appearance every three years the cats will ever see.

Can't be true. I just read that MSU is set to overtake UM in nearly every measurable metric (not sure what an immeasurable metric would be) within the next several years. Maybe it didn't include those metrics. I think it had more to do with ticket prices and a terrifying donation to a business school that should be good for a few Cat playoff wins.

I'm glad you are so happy that UM's ticket revenues dwarfs MSU, because our overall budget numbers beg to differ. Our '12 athletics budget was $22.5M while UM was at $19.2M. Considering how much your ticket sales did over ours, you should be absolutely embarrassed by those numbers. Again, we are closing fast on ticket sales revenue and that will only put us ever further ahead of you on overall budget. Basically, our President is really kicking your President's ass on fundraising. Plain and simple.

This isn't entirely accurate, the MSU budget for the last couple years comes in much higher than normal due to costs associated with the stadium expansion, they have had to add much more direct, indirect and administrative state-funded support. Those amounts went from $8.7 million in 2010 to $13 million in 2011, and went back to $9.5 million in 2012 when they also used approximately $4 million in contributions earmarked for the project.

The ticket sales obviously gained in 2012 with the stadium expansion, but the rest of the numbers will be hard to gauge until the 2012-2013 numbers come out in at the Regents meeting in January. That should be a more accurate comparison than the last couple years.

Ticket Sales (in millions): UM-2010 $5.7 MSU-2010 $1.6
UM-2011 $5.1 MSU-2011 $1.7
UM-2012 $5.4 MSU-2012 $2.4

Contributions: UM-2010 $2.8 MSU-2010 $1.1
UM-2011 $3.5 MSU-2011 $1.5
UM-2012 $3.5 MSU-2012 $5.8 (inc. stadium earmarked funds)

Bottom line the MSU athletic budget will be healthier with the extra football revenue, but I wouldn't start throwing stones quite yet.

Statistics often don't require sampling.

Probably the dumbest statement I've ever read on eGriz, and that is saying alot. Reminds me of how some people are fairly book smart, but when it comes to common sense, and practicality they absolutely have no clue. OF course that is when they resort to personal attacks, which is funny sh**.

FOUR-ZIP!!! Still arguing that UMass wasn't moving up huh? Funny. Still arguing that Cherry has a future in the NBA huh? Funnier Still claiming that geology doesnt determine drilling in oil reservoirs? Funniest damn thing yet.

I've dated a couple of Ivy league ladies in my past. Two of the worse individuals I've ever gone out with. They simply could not relate to the real world. I sense a pattern.

Actually, your statement is the dumbest. Statistics that include all football games do not require sampling, because every game is included. It's amazing that you don't understand that.

It doesn't surprise me that any smart woman would dump you.

Feel free to show where I ever said Cherry had a future in the NBA or said geology doesn't determine oil reservoirs. You are a very dishonest, and stupid, person. I used to enjoy your dumb statements that Cherry, as a soph, wasn't a good point guard and wasn't improving. Let's see you tell us again how successful UMass' move up is. Or let's hear you defend the Missoulian. That's a popular one.

Ever notice that liars try to point out others as liars. Must suck having that kind of complex. FIVE-ZIP!! You're wrong once again about me being right. Try again.

Wh cares about msu?
We are talking about scoring defense.
We have semi retired Delaney coaching and doing the best he can.
We have a chance to win it all! Yes, I may be the only EGrizer to think so but at this point we could win the entire thing.
What is amazing is the fact we are as good as we are and ........with a 4---1 record.
Forget the cat crap as that game is coming up much later.
Remember this the cats have a pussy schedule thanks in part to msu grad Fullerton.
We need to keep improving to get the job done but is all in front of us.
Yes our defense is shaky good but then again so is our offense.
UM is still the place to be in Montana during Saturday Football Games!

You're like Nixon and Viet Nam. When you're losing, you declare victory and withdraw.

It will truly be a feat if this thread makes 17 pages... :coffee:

Plus, look how the thread started. I thought that posting/highlight some of UM's season defensive rankings and stats, with no commentary whatsoever, would be fairly innocuous. I didn't realize that it was illegal to stats taken from the conference website. Or at least illegal for me (given the group of posters who want to disagree with anything I post). Had most of you started the thread, it probably would have died several days ago at one page.

So my son who is 12 was messing around with his hunting rifle and accidentally shot me in the knee, go figure I am screwed now for the season!! I gave him a thousand dollars and told him it was the best thing he has ever done in his life. He says, "why father, I could have killed you?" My response, "I am already dead after reading this sh t."

Classic Cat fan: dies from reading, doesn't leave all of his money to his kids, teaches kids that poor hunter's safety is profitable, and comes back from the dead to post on eGriz. I've seen it a thousand times.

Not always, but doesn't it seem that some of my posts draw undue attention? Maybe I should get a dozen or so new names.

You're a lawyer, I'm an engineer and statistician. I'm quite confident I smashed my way to victory. You're take on statistical analysis provided some funny moments though, I will admit that. Stick to what you do best, manipulating the truth and spinning half truths, good lawyers can do that. I thought my victory was more like Patton over Rommel. Interesting that you invoke the name of your hero though (as in Tricky Dick).
