Great Falls C.M. Russell standout Josh Huestis has repeated as Gatorade Montana boys basketball player of the year.
Huestis, a 6-foot-8 senior, led the Rustlers to a second straight Class AA championship this season, averaging 17.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, 4.8 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists per game. CMR dominated Billings West 71-41 in the title game and Huestis was named MVP of the state tournament.
Huestis, who has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Stanford, maintains a 3.93 GPA. He also serves in two student-leadership programs at school, he has volunteered on behalf of his church, at an assisted living facility, as co-chairman of the Montana Teens March Against Meth, as well as for the Special Olympics and the area Catholic Youth Organization.
