Tres Tinkle

Thanks. I think there was a MSU player more recent than Domako or Kilborn who was from Glyndon, MN or somewhere in that neck of the woods, but I can't recall his name.

I watched Domako many times. One of the best pure shooters ever. Right up there with Gary Kane. :)

Is Kilborn that you refer to the same Craig Kilborn of network late-night tv fame?

Huestis was damn impressive in the NCAA tourney game I saw this year. He was great, dominate. Didn't he finish as Standords All-Time Shot Blocker? He deserves a shot at the NBA.

Tinkle looks like a future impact player in a good D-1 conference, from the news highlight clips I've seen of him. I don't see a ceiling for him.

In regards to the Gary Kane flashback, putter and I played basektball with him in Butte. Kane was the hardest working/practicing roundballer I've ever known (course that's a limited number of course). He worked so hard everyday that he gave himself overuse/overtraining injuries.

Yep...one and the same.

 ... I thought he mentioned on air once that he went to msu to play basketball ... pretty cool.

More recently I saw one of the guys on the nationally televised Dan Patrick radio show (one of 4 or so guys in the control room) wearing a montana state t-shirt...I wonder to myself if he actually went there as well? hmmm...life's important quetions... :)

When Kilborn hosted his late-night talk show, he actually had an MSU alumni night once, when the entire audience was MSU grads, and he had a big MSU Alumni banner on his stage. That guy on the Dan Patrick show (Pauly?) wears MSU shirts fairly often on the show, but I don't know exactly what his connection may be to MSU. Apparently he's a big fan of FCS football in general.

Yeah, Pauly likes to champion the lower division sports. Always a big proponent of I-AA anything.

Great article, Wayne comments on the recruitment of Tres. Sounds like Wayne is not going to easily give him up to any other coach or program in college. Here is to hoping Tres will be a GRIZ and influence some other 3 star recruits over the summer.

I assume this means that Tres will transfer out of Hellgate and follow the family to Oregon for his senior year. :?

Actually, that's okay. He was a mercenary of sorts. Might as well move to a bigger stage sooner rather than later.

Tres moves up to 46th in the nation on the ESPN 100 list for 2015. If he heads to Oregon State we could have a Creighton type situation and Tinks is putting together one hell of a coaching staff!

West will be tough this year. Samuelson, Betcher and think I heard that Chris Spoja's son is at West after transferring from Las Vegas. Spoja was a good Griz and great athlete. I hear his son is very good.

Great Falls High will be very good with about everyone back.

Hellgate will have Tinkle, Lebsock, Baerlocher and Bray as a good returning nucleus. Will need to develop a couple more kids.

Tres just tweeted out that he had committed to OSU to play for Wayne.. Congrats to both of them.
