Transfer Bobcat Cornerback Dismissed from Team Yesterday

Now you're making excuses for them ?! A football program that RETAINS 2 coaches that get DUIs, and one that crashed a vehicle, and is having multiple players dismissed for domestic abuse. Within like 3 years.... WTF are you smoking ??
I didn’t defend anybody. Just asked you a simple question.

The only people a post like this "unmasks" are the assholes who celebrate a domestic assault case because it happened on the rival sports team and not their own. And there are Bobcat fans who are also assholes and have done the same thing in the past. Don't be an asshole, it's easy.
Until you specifically call out one of your own on that pos site over there for the same thing, pardon me but uhhhhhh, STFU.

Nick, in all seriousness, where is this mythical football program that has never had any issues with its players?
Well, we know it ain't in bozo where your favorite team resides.

I'll answer your question with a question: if the GRIZ had multiple assistant coaches with multiple criminal charges and then had multiple players arrested for domestic abuse, how many pages would the thread be on litterboxnation?

And even better questions:
Would Bobby be on the hot seat? Answer: yes.
Would he still even have a job? Answer: probably not
Why do MSU and their fan base not seem terribly concerned about the obvious character deficiencies within their football program? Answer: whether accurate or not, it portrays a win at all costs attitude.

Say what you will about Bobby, but he has been very very careful about the character attributes of the players he recruits in his second tenure, especially transfers. Go listen to Colter's new podcast with Andrew Schmidt. They specifically discuss Justin Green talking about watching recruits social media in order to determine whether it's the kind of guy they want to bring in or not. Sure people slip through the cracks and have to be dealt with, but the issues at MSU seem to have been systemic under Vigen and not one-off situations.

Great post, you hit it right on, Kudos to Coach Hauck and how he has been on top of things since he came back.

I really don't care for slinging mud back and forth on these things, particularly issues of a serious nature like domestic violence. I will say I didn't care for what the initial report was that they said he hadn't worked out at all with the team, as if to say, 'it's not our fault or our issue,' but things happen in all programs. Eventually, we'll have an issue down the road, not that I like it.

Times have changed though, and honestly I can tell you about an incident none of you know of when I was at Montana. I was with a member of the basketball team and left the press box. He was driving and decided to go across the foot bridge. Now, before you say, you remember that, it was not that incident about 15 years later or so. This was when Mike Montgomery was in Missoula and I am sure he was made aware of it, because when we got to the other side of the bridge, there was a campus security vehicle there and we were stopped. The officer recognized the driver and escorted us back to the dorm and nothing was made public about it.

If that happen today with a member of the football team, based on the issues that arose out of the later incident, I don't want to think about what everyone would have to say. Not nearly a big deal in comparison, but Bobby has to watch everything that is going on still.

Who is celebrating domestic abuse? Please point that out.

What would you like them to do, personally supervise all 105 players on the roster 24 hours a day to make sure they aren't doing anything stupid? Serious question, how do you stop this kind of thing from ever happening with a 100% success rate? Because not a single NCAA program has ever managed to do that to this point.
You terminate the coaches sooner. That’s easy. I bet MSU didn’t adequately vet the Nevada transfer. I bet they were too desperate for a corner.

What is interesting to me with the vetting is that one article says that there had been "20 to 30 physical incidents and too many verbally abusive incidents to count during the 3.5-year." He came from Nevada. So there are only two options that I can think of.

1) Vigen was too proud or somehow unwilling to contact Choate, Robertson, and whoever else is there on staff at Nevada that used to be at MSU.

2) The Choate staff intentionally misled Vigen about the kid.

Both options have interesting implications.

Yes, I read that too. But, the 20-30 incidents were never reported by the girlfriend. The article also stated that this was his first offense. If she never reported the incidents before it’s possible that both Choate and Vigen were unaware of any problems.

Regarding the second option, I've heard Choate say a lot of things, but never anything that seemed like he was being intentionally deceptive. He's often too honest actually. So it's probably #1.

Maybe. I didn't see the article saying that nothing had been reported before, could you link me on that? Regardless, I find it hard to believe a coach like Choate didn't know there was something under the surface. Kids talk. A lot.

This sucks and is awful for all involved, obviously. The only part I'm interested in is that dynamic between those two staffs, who I had thought were very closely connected.
