David2 said:This thread is problematical, if not stupid. C'mon, BW, you've already been accused of sugar coating, and this proves it. Who are you? Mel Kiper, for god's sake? Granted, you have forgotten more about football than I'll ever know, but REALLY. So, you think these guys are of the caliber of carpenter, mariani, schillinger, biermann, etc. I'm not saying they aren't, but it's too early to tell, altho I have some picks from the ones you cite.
From all reports, Tru is the man. Opperud & Burton: Difficult to believe an NFL team wants an injury-prone OL like Opperrud, but if Horn did it, then what can I say? Altho Horn is on a Bears practice squad & you may only be talking about those who MAKE it to the NFL, not those who actually PLAY in NFL games. Fair enough. As to Burton, he may do well.
All I can say is you should compare Sabin to Verlanic, who did not get to the NFL for perhaps reasons other than his talent. Verlanic was a helluva center & the OL succeeded to the degree he did. Sabin better than Verlanic? Am impressed w/ the WRs, esp. Atkins w/ that TD catch, holding the ball to his helmet. That's talent no NFL scout can overlook. Moore is a cipher, far as I'm concerned. You've seen him, I haven't. Like I said, you do a lot of sugar-coating, here. Christ, why do you bring up Duncan? You said it best: He's a long shot. Why waste time on this?
I'm not going to waste any more time on responding to this ridiculous thread. All I see as definite NFL prospects are Tru, Atkins, and maybe McKnight, if he has a good year. He has to be at least as good as Carpenter, you know.
BW, we all love your feedback on Griz scrimmages, on games, on all your insights into Griz football, but this goes over the top. You have given your opinion re: likely NFL prospects on this 2011 team, but to say, "The most pro-prospects" is over the top.![]()
I was hoping by saying repeatedly that this is a sugary best-case scenario people would get it, however there's always those few who don't get the hint.
D2 are you just upset that that a post-Hauck team could have the potential to produce more pro prospects? Even though most of these guys are Hauck recruits...
