The Next Head Coach: the Real Discussion

Mike Van Diest - NAIA to FCS is a huge leap. Just a few years ago he almost quit on Carroll (allegedly) due to a lack of passion for the job. We know he can win championships at the NAIA level.

* Kevin Peoples--Georgia Southern--Carroll College

* Kris Cincovich--U of ID--Carroll College

* Bryce Erickson--U of ID--Dad is Dennis

* Matt Lubic--Oregon--Dad is Sonny

* Marc Lubic--Houston (NFL)--Dad is Sonny

* Mike Ferriter--ID State
 
I think TY G gets the job. He seemed to be the coach that did the interview for the Missoulian after the EWU loss.

I am not 100% sure If TY is named the coach I would not be surprised. Following UM past hire history.

Maybe Kent will break the mold and really do a real search!

When you compare the pay to the unrealistic expectations of the spoiled-rotten fanbase, this isn't that great a job. I hope Haslam pulls a rabbit out of his hat.

Bull. Great coaches are competitive and thrive on those expectations. Can't handle it? Go coach at Southern Utah - town and fans could care less. We have amazing fans in my opinion .

I assume he'd be a great head coach because he's been an excellent coach for six years and a great offencive coordinator for four years now and has been on the CFL short list of head coaching hires for the last three years. Anytime your competition is interested in hiring you as their next head coach, you're doing something right.
He'd probably be the second year head coach in Saskatchewan or Hamilton had Calgary not offered him a better contract. Hufnagel, who is not only Calgary head coach, but also general manager, has stated publicly that preparing Dickenson to be a head coach is an objective.

You think Dave loves Montana? At this point he has way deeper roots with the Stamps. Griz fans get a little goofy when talking about the pull of Montana on former players and coaches, but Calgary seems to be where its at for Dickenson.

Craig Dickenson on the other hand, might be lured south, but most egrizzers have no idea who he is.
