Nick Rolovich

Definitely was underpaid before getting a bump. Likely still underpaid. Would be even more underpaid at UM if UM were to offer the 2003 - 2014 standard deal.

He would be a great get.

So what do you guys think about Lance Leipold @ UW Whitewater? Is the jump from D3 too unrealistic? Great team that totally dominates its conference, national champs 5 of the 6 years Leipold's been there (probably should move up.) Younger guy. Former QB. Team plays in a bigger, better stadium atmosphere than several BSC schools.

I've seen him mentioned on here recently. Crazy impressive record. I wonder how the scholarship aspect would change the job. Just as with the Carroll coach, I think recruiting and selling people on the program and facilities, etc. might be easier for an FBS coordinator/assistant than a guy who has likely never really dealt with that aspect of the job. Would a DIII coach bring his staff? That said, I have no idea what it's like to coach at any level.

These posts are so interesting and most of them totally unrealsitic but i truly enjoy reading them since it shows how passionate GRIZ fans really are. If Haslam is the AD that we all hope he is, he will do a very thorough national search and come up with 4-5 finalists and then make a good decision. For my money i think we need a new face ideally with some UM or Montana roots who can come in and develop an offense that is exciting and can recruit well both in state and out of state. The salary offering is awful and needs to be upgraded but doubt that will happen to a major degree. Despite what some on here have said UM is a great place to be and can get a good up and coming coach and one who does not say he wants to stay forever--we need someone who has fire in the belly and is not content to stay at an FCS school for the rest of his career. One issue that no one has mentioned is the UM leadership at the top (as in the President) is not the caliber of what MSU has in terms of leadership and vision and i am not sure that if i were a HC candidate i would be real excited about coming to a place where the President threw a previous HC and AD under the bus . That to me is an issue that will have to be faced. GO GRIZ and beadt the CATS

Good post. The UM "leadership" issue or lack there of is certainly a problem. The excitement of the past few days may have pushed it to the back burner but RE is still an elephant on
the back of UM football.

I think UM already knows who it's next coach will be. Look at this recruiting class coming in. You know full well these recruits had to be told that UM would have a new coach and some major facilities upgrades coming. The recruits coming in have to have some level of confidence that a new coach is not coming in with a different philosophy and run the risk of not fitting into the system.

I bet dollars to donuts that someone on current staff is named the new head coach.
I only hope that they can turn the corner with the team and utilize the talent we have!

I don't know, to me it would seem foolish if UM did not inform the recruits during the recruiting process. Why sell these kids on a current coach and system knowing full well he would not be in place come signing day and have mass amount of de commitments.

I can see the new article on GoGriz.com. UM has hired xxxxxx from it current coaching ranks to take over the job as head coach for Grizzly football. AD Kent H says the application pool was vast with great candidates. AD Kent H decision was based on naming coach xxxx as he has vested interest in many of the current players and upcoming new recruits. Coach xxxx was the most logical choice in that he can build and continue the success the former coach Delaney started. Coach xxxx was part of UM process in getting UM football back on a good track. We are confident that coach xxx wil continue that.

Like to see Jonathan Smith-the offensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies. Don't know what he makes, but he might be due for a head coaching job.

i don't understand why people keep mentioning timm rosenbach. he's been a failure at all his coaching stops. I can't believe that the griz even had him in the first place.

I, like the rest of you, have zero idea who the new head coach will be. In my opinion though, if it's someone currently on the staff, it will be a big mistake.

Not to mention how he bolted from here at the first opportunity.

Pretty sure it's a joke.

Its already over that.

No. It could be over $200k if all incentives were met, but that isn't likely. And it's not the same thing as a $200k base check.

It looks like we could make Timm-Rosenbach a match offer.

Rosy back again?!? This is the guy that tanked the 2012 season, went to Weber talking all about how happy he was to coach there, only to jet that same year to UNLV. The guy is flighty as hell and a walking dumpster fire. He is about as trustworthy as a copper head. I'll pass on him.

My dry delivery didn't come through, apparently.

Need to make it a little more obvious. We're slow here. :| :| :geek:

What about that candidate for the NoDak job? You know, the guy who mastered Madden 2012? He prolly has advanced to at least Madden 2014 now and the sky is the limit.

I remember him. He had a helluva resume.

I'm pretty sure I played him a couple times. Only did onside kicks and kept going for two. Really annoying.

It's crazy we live in a world where making $200,000.00 per year is made to sound like living in poverty! I'd take the job for $100,000.00 and never leave, plus I've been a member of EGRIZ long enough that I know exactly what it takes to be successful as the next coach.

I'll take that bet; it's widely known I don't need the donuts, so I'll go for the $. What is also widely known, to include Haslam and UM admin., is that none of the current assistants are ready for the HC job. Haslam will get applications from coaches with resumes far superior to any of our assistants.

He passed this job grade shortly after he left here.
