LadyGriz Tanner Lind joins the Lady Griz staff as Director of Player Development

This is a great hire. Great job Nate!

Looks like the Lady Griz future is getting brighter.

Lind joins Lady Griz staff
Key phrase: "I love figuring out what they are not strong at and putting a plan together and seeing how we can get good at ball-handling, footwork, finishing, shooting, passing, body movement, timing," he said. "I love helping them get better and seeing confidence build within players as they develop new skills."

Thats why i commend Nate so much. It takes a certain individual to realize where some short comings are and reaching out for help. Regardless if he needs it or not, why would you not want this guy helping your kids out. Very shortsighted to deny the help.
I think this approach is more about where each are in their respective coaching career. For better or worse, Nate is very much under the microscope and needs to show vast improvement in the results this upcoming season.

I admire it too. I'm glad Harris has made some drastic changes during the offseason in an effort to improve the team. There have been several coaches in the past (I won't mention names) that have absolutely refused to adapt for the betterment of the program. Good on Nate for recognizing changes needed to be made!

Soooo, i know you didn't say it, but are you saying that Travis is far enough in his career that he can rest on his laurels? Turn down help no matter how helpful it might be?

Not what I was saying. It was more that based on his success he has a longer leash to run his program as he sees fit. I don't for second believe that Travis doesn't do everything he considers helpful to obtain and sustain success of the program.

That may be true but i don't see how letting Lind put his 2 cents in is not helpful. My original comment was towards M&S saying that TD would not approve of Linds help. That seems shortsighted to me.

My thought is TD has several people he has in his circle already and it is probably misguided to think that not involving Lind is the poor, short-sided decision.

Maybe its a me thing being the type of guy that welcomes all the help i can get. When i see people turn down help, my thought is they either think they're better off without the help cus its not really help, or they're too proud to accept the help. I guess it might be a case of them thinking they're better off already and have enough help but if that were truly the case, should we not at the very least be the best team in this shit ass conference if TD can turn down such obviously helpful pieces?

But as a head coach, there are only so many voices you can hear before it starts becoming too many and counterproductive. You also don't know what he has or hasn't turned down.

The offseason is l o n g …when did Travis turn down an offer from someone to help with player development? A cursory review of the posts above shows no such thing…

If we’re making shit up, I think something more creative is in order…no way this goes 17 or more!
