In my opinion the problem with the pass D is a lack of pressure from the front 4. We need to blitz in order to get pressure and that exposes marginal db's.

Like Brint pointed out in an other thread. Jesse Ginn is a great start to accomplish just this! Tonga Takia at NT stops all runs in the middle just by him being there. You are right, we do need faster guys beside him to make a bigger push. Our DE's are just getting left on the side line. Poor Wag's in this sac game deserved 10 sacks, but Safron was always running away from him, maybe a speedster like wag's at both ends, but who do we have?

It's a good thing the Griz have some things going for them besides the pass (non)defense. That 255 yards per game given up, BTW, places them #100 out of the 122 FCS teams.

And some notable teams that are WORSE at pass defense than Montana:

106 ... No. 9 Youngstown St.
111 ... No. 3 Eastern Wash.
112 ... No. 6 Sam Houston St.

As I've said, pass defense yards is one of the worst passing stats correlated with winning and an extremely crappy measure of defensive quality.

I haven't seen the other 2 but ewu has also faced the best pass offense in any level of college football and I think most can agree that ewu is probably overrated. It's also relevant to understand that if you're a top caliber team you're probably going to get passed on a lot as you're often times ahead. That is not the case with the griz who are constantly behind because our pass defense

Good data BUT.....our pass defense has declined now vs earlier in THIS season....so the improvement earlier in the year was much greater than now as the last couple of games have skewed the data greatly.

Good point ordigger but you would have to anticipate that it would get worse. Playing App who, at 2-7, had turned out to be a bad team, OPSU, and an overrated UND team made the pass D look very good. Now Montana gets to the legit passing teams of the Big Sky and are giving up way more yards. Just glad the end result, mostly, had resulted in W's

Cal Poly - Actually trailed in this one for most of the game, albeit by just 7
EWU - Led this one 10-7 before imploding. Didn't stop EWU from continuing to pass
Sac State-went back and forth, led 17-10, 38-24, 45-38. After Sac's TD early in the 3rd to tie it we never trailed again.

So, in a nutshell, you're dead wrong.

I don't even consider the first 3 games due to the level of opponent we faced. NAU obviously didn't throw it on us because their NAU. With the exception of 1 drive PSU was passing on us from the get go, fairly successfully too but we jumped to a huge lead early, they didn't result to passing because we were ahead...that was the game plan all along. UC Davis was over before their offense had any hope of making any plays although they were balanced. Cal Poly doesn't pass period. We lost the lead to EWU DUE to the passing attack...kinda like I said... and they didn't stop passing once they were ahead. In fact this forum board even acknowledged the fact that maybe they passed too late in the game when we even had a chance of coming back. Obviously they knew we couldn't defend the pass so they just kept going with it. Your defense against the sac state game was, "Well we didn't lose the lead after the 3rd quarter so obviously we weren't behind!" Let's be real here for a second. We had to go to overtime in a back and forth game with a sub par opponent.

Regardless I think all of your posts are absolutely ridiculous and this is the only response I will give to you because I honestly don't believe you deserve an ounce of my time.
