Take a statistical look at the pass defense

I like it, but I'm still trying to figure out which end the third defensive end goes to. Perplexing.

He piggybacks on the d-end lined up on the wide side of the field, duh..this will help facilitate some double lb blitzes utilizing the oft forgotten wheelbarrow technique..
Exactly - you have to think out of the box (cause a box only has 2 ends to each line, so there isn't room to put a 3rd end).

Interwebs. Serious bidness.

There is that short enough for you, Mr. SAST?
If you actually read my post earlier I told you that you weren't worth my time :P. Sorry reading comprehension hard.

And yet you keep responding. Hmmm.... 8-) 8-)

If you'd actually read my posts you might learn something....of course, I never played the game, however. :| :| :geek:

The 20 seconds I use to read your short posts in between my tasks at work isn't considered worthwhile time to me :). And to be fair you've responded to me more than I've responded to you

To be fair, I never said I wasn't going to respond to you. ;)

That there is some funny shit.

I thought Ty did a better job last year...I know, call me crazy, and the stats seem to refute my opinion, but....

Last year the defense blitzed a lot, and were within nanoseconds on many occasions of sacking the qb. I thought he was one adjustment away last year, and that was to play the corners up closer than 12 yds to take away a quick pass from the qb...this year, I don't know what the fuck is going on...

Well, at least against EWU we WERE nanoseconds away from sacking the QB on several occasions including two of the TD passes....

Yep....one we got caught on a mismatch, nothing you can do with that personnel package, and the other we missed 284 tackles.

If teams beat the griz on a mismatch, then they made a nice play. I still like the Breske strategy. Might give up one or two long ones a game, but put a hurting on the rest of the time. Last year it seemed he was caught halfway between Breske and Paulson...Breskson, or Paulske if you prefer. This year it seems to be 90% or more of Paulson...

Funny thing...watched the EWU game again and we blitzed early in the game with some success, but after the 86 yarder it seems like Gregorak felt like he'd been burned and was afraid to send the house much after that, and instead (because of poor tackling and soft coverage) Adams picked us apart for the next quarter and a half.

Agreed. We played the blitz game alot but on the snap we usually dropped back in coverage. One time we did send the house on a jailbreak blitz Adams just threw it up as hard as he could and it resulted in a long TD pass that was shithouse luck on their part. Gregorak is closer to Paulson than he is to Breske in scheme. Breske just didn't give a shit about collateral damage and just attacked attacked attacked but in order for that to be successful you need a kickass secondary. Our secondary is getting there but Breske had a special group in Johnson and Roots.

I wonder how many passing yards the Griz have allowed on 3rd downs this season. That seems to be the down that we are having the problems with.
