Strong

...sorry to say Strong is probably gone and once again not a real bright move..sometimes you need to walk away..next man up!

Anybody know anything about the $50k "bail" after he was already released?

My reading is that the bail was set by phone over the weekend, but they let him out without on Monday anyway. He posted a mock-up of the Griz Big Sky championship ring for 2017. I think the UM felony break-in arrested guys got their bail set at $50,000, but then had to pay 10% to the bail bondsman to get out. Jailers are apparently nicer in Pullman than in Missoula.

Not good...

While there are differences in testimony in here...seems like pretty good chance Strong and others chased the "victim" out of the house and down the street. Self Defense?

This whole thing sucks.

Yes, if the guy stopped, turned back at them, put up his fists, acted threatening, and was a big guy.

The chasing part...you are not defending yourself if you are chasing them. But, admittedly - I have no friggin clue. Pissed these guys are in this predicament, including the dude in the hospital.

Agreed on the chasing part. But if you chase someone, and then they stop and start to come after you, then that overrides the earlier chasing part. Just because you chase someone doesn't mean that you forfeit your right to defend yourself later. Obviously, depends on the facts.

You may be right on the gone part, but if no charges are brought or the charge is dropped to a misdemeanor, then he wouldn't be kicked off the team under the athletic code, I don't believe. Big IF's.

He should be booted. I'm a little surprised it hasn't happened yet.

Why would you boot someone who hasn't even been charged with anything? Don't think the athletic code would even permit that.

So it’s ok to punch somebody blooding his lip and causing a black eye then run out the door get chased, get pasted, and become the victim because of the severity caused by the punch. Anyone who just got whacked would chase him down and give him the once for all. Sounds like the kid was looking for a fight a found one. Strong will pay a heavy penalty for something almost anyone reading would have done.

The police report alone is dam damming.

I agree with you. It sounds like strong was breaking up a fight that involved that particular kid already. In the middle of that, that kid either put strong in a chokehold or decked him in the back of the head. guessing by the bloody lip and cut eye he was decked. Then the guy tucks tail and runs? I have to admit if that happened to me I probably be chasing the guy too

Nothing like those decades of ISU thugs, right? That was downright institutionally encouraged thuggery. I can't believe they even fielded a team with some of those guys. smh

The main thing is the severity of the injury and hitting while he was down. That’s where the problem is.

Put himself in a place which could lead to issues .... did something stupid there and will likely pay for it. Too bad it also impacts his teammate's chances of having the best season they could have had. This "might" extend to other players also if many reports of who was there are true.

Public relations wise probably be smart for Stitt and department to make a statement on what is going on to get ahead of the storm building with all the unknowns. Lack of information release is not what works best in today's world. Transparency in a program will work far better than silence....

Whatever CDA. Put your head in the sand. I don't think you wanna compare thugs.

and having three guys chase him down. Self defense? really?

Hell no, I don't! The bail 'em out Bengals over decades definitely take the BSC crown when it comes to that.

It’s open for speculation whether the guy was threatening at all to Strong. What is certain is that Strong hit the guy at least twice.

Could Strong and others have walked away after the guy ran and been "safe" with no fear of personal safety (or called 911 if were in fear)? If the answer is yes (even if not the manly or likely thing a college football player would do) he was not acting in self defense and initiated the final event by chasing him.....that likely is enough for charges and due to injuries suffered I would say is felony level.

Nope. You are not correct. What happened in the seconds before Strong’s punch is what will decide self defense. You obviously know less about the law than football. And that is saying something.

Yup. Agree. I would hope that both other witnesses have consulted lawyers or talked to strong’s by now. And have had time to gather their thoughts. Note that one witness said one of them hit the guy too. The other witness didnt say that. Bad recollection? Alcohol? Lie? Friends with the WSU Guy?
