If the team were losing on the field, and/or failing in the classroom, and/or getting arrested on and off campus, I would be the first to say, Spanky, bring in an outsider to clean up this mess.
But none of those problems exist today. Mick, ably assisted by Scott and Ty and the rest of his staff, just steered our good ship through the stormiest seas in the history of GRIZ football which included intense local, state, and national media attention, an NCAA and DOJ investigation and the loss of 4 scholarships, and the suspension, intense rape trial and subsequent acquittal of Jordan Johnson, our starting QB, and the team ably captained by Mick sailed through all of these trials and tribulations ! And through all of this turmoil we continued to win on the field, learn in the classroom, and especially stay out of trouble on and off campus and contribute to UM and Missoula both on and off the field.
As the most visible proof of this success, we have now demolished our in-state rival two years in a row. Therefore, I think we should maintain the continuity of success and momentum Mick is recommending by hiring Scott or Ty.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it !"
