Scholarship Money-Montana Kids

Well it stimulated close minded guys like you to start thinking a bit. Convince me that many of them shouldn’t be in the Frontier Conference. Also, you haven’t yet revealed the total amount of scholarship money currently allocated to Montana kids.

Neither have you, even though you are hell bent to say it is too much.

Just for the record Helena, 1122 and others, my family has been involved with UM since 1935. I care about UM. I think Bobby Hauck is an excellent football coach, but using language you understand, the current recruiting program and overloading the roster with Montana kids SUCKS!

I'm only closed-minded to people coming on here saying any kid from Montana belongs in the Frontier conference based on nothing but their personal feelings.

And you're the one bringing up scholarship money as if it justifies what you're saying, so why don't you tell us what it is?

You are basing your opinion on just counting the number of Montana kids on the roster and absolutely nothing else. Seems rather simplistic and ignorant.

No, I believe the number of kids from Montana are getting a sizable amount of scholarship money that would be better served recruiting elsewhere. Ignorant? So be it.

You have zero idea how much scholarship money those Montana kids are getting, so you have no idea if it could be used better elsewhere. That is pretty much the definition of ignorant.

To further clarify, FCS schools have a maximum of 63 Full Scholarships that can be split amongst 85 players. Any player above 85 is a full walk-on. It would be interesting to see the breakdown for Big Sky teams but like has been mentioned, that information is not public.

You are a know it all insider basket case. Find out the amount of money allocated to the Montana kids, then we can have a debate.

How about you find out and save us from having to debate.

Montana isn’t a private school, thus, the information should be available. Also, Bobby’s recruiting travel budget may be so low that he can’t travel any longer, thus, he is limited to primarily recruiting on a local basis. Similar to a program at Montana Tech or Rocky.

Helena, you know I don’t believe that! Over the years the program was fortunate to have many outstanding athletes from Montana. Now we accept every player regardless of talent. I see it as a glaring weakness.

Are they accepting only Montana kids regardless of talent or is it all kids?

The answer should be obvious to non-Kool-Aid drinkers. Hauck is signing the marginal left-overs who used to be signed by the Bobcats after we picked-off the stud high school kids from the state of Montana. And now, the Bobcats own the state in recruiting the studs, so we are recruiting the left-overs. Few on egriz want to admit it, and some even embarrass themselves trying to argue it, but this the norm for Kool-Aid drinkers.

Look, it is a FACT that the Bobcats are beating us regularly now, and sometimes by embarrassing margins. So, what is the reason they are able to do this? It is either recruiting better players, or having better coaches. The "injured QB" excuse is laughable. You choose. But you can't debate the fact that they are beating us.
The reality is that the Bobcats are out-recruiting us both in-state, and especially out-of-state.

This isn't remotely true, sir. The information is not publicly available. It is the Student's personal and private financial information. To my knowledge, there is no way of finding out what kids are on what scholarships.

Secondly, we are recruiting all over the country. Off the top of my head, we have gotten kids from Texas, Nevada, and California within the last year or so. We are recruiting out of state, for sure. In fact, just this year we landed our highest rated recruit EVER, and he is out of Texas. The the portal, we are getting guys from everywhere from UCLA to Nebraska. The recruiting budget allows us to recruit out of state.

Do you hate facts, like when users spend a lot of time going year by year to prove that we are not being dominated and embarrassed by the Cats in recruiting? Or do you just come in, spew some ignorance, and then not even read the responses?

Sir, the question was: Is this your handwriting?

The Cat head coach is 1-1 against the Griz. That does not equal beating the Griz "regularly". Griz instate recruiting is still very good. You don't follow the program or know anyone in the program. You just spew nonsense. You think an old store-bought tee shirt proves you played baseball. You are not listed anywhere in the Red Book for anything. That means you didn't play.

I think you really unlocked the truth with that phrasing. Maybe he hung around with the team, but detailed statistics were kept. Clearly he didn't actually PLAY baseball....

I know I still have team pictures going back to t-ball teams when I was like 6.

I’m not interested in knowing the amounts for individual kids. Only the aggregate amount for Montana kids.
