The boys are ready. D.O.L.A. is back! Russum is in town and showed the new boys how to behave. Big night at Westside Lanes and mark my words, the O-Line is pissed and ready to roll. J.P. danced with a cougar until even he hated until even he hated who he had become tonight. He is angry and we shall win. Bank on it.

Brent didn't share any "product", did he?

who is russum?

Really?

I think he's originally from Montana, started at Arizona State and transferred back to the UM, started for 3 years, but his senior year he was pretty banged up, I think that was 2008. Was one of the solid corps of O-linemen we had over Bobby's impressive run through the Big Sky conference.

Seriously? ..or is this some inside joke?

Great synopsis. The other thing I would add: don't give up big plays on third down and get off the field. FIVE times EWU scored touchdowns on third down. Twice on third-and-goal situations and twice on third-and-long. Allow a field goal in one of those third-and-goals and make EWU punt on either 3rd and 12 or 3rd and 13 and that's 10 less points. It was maddening how many times EWU got touchdowns when it was third down.

Great point GB04 - one thing that's gone largely unnoticed is how bad the Grizzly defense has become on 3rd down. Their season average they're allowing conversions 42% of the time, that's 9th in the conference, not good, over the last two games it's been even higher at 47%

Treshawn Favors, that'll burn his red shirt. In fall camp he really didn't look ready to play yet, but who knows, maybe 1/2 a season on the scout team has helped.

I think Marlon Miles is out, has been the last few games, not sure what his deal is.

Someone suggested Gavin Hagfors, he's bulked up, more of a blocker now, but might be an option, he was an all-state running back.

Um... outside of that.... :?

Please not another redshirt player activated for nothing. Didn't we see this last year with Counts who still wasn't getting enough reps and is now the one being replaced.

And JJ in 2010.

Joking I assume?

He used his RS in 2012, so it makes no difference as of now.

Yes! Remember the posts in 2010 when his redshirt year was "burned". Kinda worked out in the end.

I noticed it's been raining and in the 40s in Missoula this week. Do you guys think playing in 80 degree weather at 1 PM on Saturday in Sac will have cause any problems for the griz?

As a warm weather team, I know it would cause some issues playing in a colder, wet climate. But, I'm not sure if the opposite has been historically true?

Won't be a factor, this is the first crappy weather we've had so far this fall in Missoula. They practiced in 90 degree heat through August and some of September.

Are you shitting me?!!

Please tell me this was a joke...

NO, I don't think weather will be a factor. I think the biggest problems for the griz in this game are:

A. They're playing a good team.
B. The team they're playing has had an extra week to prepare.
C. They're playing AT Sac State.
D. They're Banged up.
E. Delaney.

Sac St isn't a good team.....

Is NAU? Because they looked pretty damn good playing you... and they only beat Sac by one point.

Sac's 4 wins are against an NAIA team and the three worst teams in the conference with a combined 4-20 record. They did give NAU a game, but NAU helped them quite a bit letting them rattle off 21 points in a matter of minutes thanks to two costly interceptions.

Tough to say, Sac's won the games they're supposed to, as have the Griz. We'll see who is the better team come Saturday.

If the good guys don't win this game, then I think we kiss the playoffs goodbye. Not to sound like a downer, but every game is a must-win. If the Griz drop any before Griz/Scat... don't want to think about it. All I have now is that if we are able to win out, then the Brawl will be for whether or not we get to be at home in the first round. BUT, as was mentioned in other threads, the Griz need to take it one game at a time. Each game is a season, and its high time they rode for the brand.

True... but if you're playing those cards, someone could also bring up the combined records of the teams you've beat, and it wouldn't be pretty. They could also point out that the EWU game really wasn't that close, they dominated you and you only made it look close at the end because EWU slacked off and you got a few lucky breaks.

My main point was that I would suggest you guys don't talk about how Sac is not a good team until after you play them... because I can promise you this is a dangerous game for the griz, all things considered.
