Post Game: 580

Spot on again Brint!
Isn't there another player who can replace Bo Tully? I cannot believe he is the best choice. I supported him and even praised him several game this year, but he is back to his 2012 self. Nate Harris has some serious cover issues that I believe are lack of confidence. If you notice, Goodwin plays right up on his receiver and tries to deny the ball from the start, Harris plays 5 yds off and allows a running start.
Agree wholeheartedly with the anology of the defense getting worse. Nothing on the defense has changed (playerwise) all season. Time to insert players who want to make plays and not just be happy to be on the field.
I predicted 400yds passing for JJ, over 100yds each for Henderson and Jones and over 100yds for Jordan C rushing, almost got them all. I think Jordan C. hit the holes better this week than any week so far, he jumped outside several times, but for the most part, followed his blocks, (what little blocked holes there were.)

I don't understand why these big fella's, our O-Line, can't just push their defender forward everytime. Is it because they can't get low enough? Maybe they ought to line up on their knees.
All in all I thought the Offense looked better this week than in the past four.
Defense needs to wake up and get some balls. Gregorack needs to push some buttons!

Tully is the best at the position and has been having a good season, playing the best ball of his life, according to the coaches. Didn't appear to have a great game on Saturday. I like how Tully is playing this year. Has made some big plays. No, he's not an all-american like the UM all-americans who have played before him. Pass coverage and tackling from strong safety are not always easy. Lots of area to cover and decisions to be made, and it's tough to fill quickly and make every tackle, and tough to tackle one on one in space. It's easier to see mistakes in the secondary, because there aren't other players around them, and mistakes often result in big plays for the offense.

Well said sir.

ok wrong place to post, but alpha brought it up, did anybody listen to the BigSkyTV commentators :o they were F**King Pathetic Pu$$!35  They made Sacramento State sound like bunch of Kobe Bryant cry babies  was honestly pathetic to listen to, so i turned up the online missoula radio up. was horrible

Sorry was referring to the "Violent hit", my brother yelled, "Violent"! this aint F***king flag football!!! :x was hilarious

The game-time management at the end was horrific. Why wouldn't Ole Mick use his TOs after SuckSt's 1st and goal completion? When there's no time left, there's no sense saving TOs. We ran out of time yet we had TO left. We could have had enough time to win in regulation, well, that is, if he did run that horrific running play too.

Yeah, those were the two hits. Both times Safron was motionless on the ground for a long period and trainers/docs from both teams rushed onto the field. The second hit probably took the wind out of him or broke some ribs, but he looked like he had been shot.
Safron must be pretty damn tough!! Just from what I'm hearing he shoulda been carted off the field.

I'm glad that game is behind us and yes Saffron is one tough sob. The hit Coyle put on him would put most qb's out. Hats off to that young man for a very gutsy game.

Let's see if this works, JPs hit on Safron:

you don't get called for making a tackle at the ankles....know why...because it is good fundamentals...in this case, the way you fall and recover is not what you get penalized for when making a hit...
excellent technique JP....why because you made the tackle and the player landed in the spot where contact was made...not riding a player for extra yards because you are tackling above the waist and allowing the most powerful leveraged part of the body to continue to drive you....the legs.

I am not sure what happened with our punt team yesterday, but was anyone else nervous every time we had to punt?
It seemed like Shaw barely got off several punts and had the one kick tipped. I was surprised the numbers still show an average of 41 yards per punt for Shaw, however, several punts got good Griz bounces.
I am no Special Teams coach, but shouldn't the 3 blockers in front of Shaw move forward to make contact on approaching defenders?
Go Griz!

Yes it looks like some change is needed.
One punt was partially blocked and another appeared it might have been as well. :ugeek:
