Wouldnt a knock on pease is that he's been a good position coach but not much success as an oc?
Yeah he only won a National Championship with the Griz as the "OC" ask anyone that played in 95 and 96. He had an 11 year career in the NFL and has been around a lot of other big programs, he is too experienced to come to Montana..........in theory

I believe you meant to say ask anyone who played in 95. According to your rational, we sucked in 1996 since we made it to the Chipper, but we didn't win the title! Kind of puts Pease on par with Hauck!

:D ok, everyone will have to forgive me as I'm not sure if I'm suppose to read sarcasm into the responses. I'm seeing 4 years in the nfl, Griz oc under dennehy, oc a couple other places briefly and most recently fired as oc at Florida.

Huh? He was OC for the '96 Griz; check those stats out. Also BSU - offensive machine. Only Florida was a trainwreck; that's the only reason we even have a shot at this guy. I think he's the next UM HC, taking a serious pay cut because he really wants the job. Don Read roots; brilliant offensive mind. Heard the same knock re. Pflu as you may recall.

If Pease comes here I will be super stoked, he'd half to take a serious pay cut but if he wants to be head coach it's a good opportunity for sure.

Mick Dennehy was the OC in '95. Pease '96 - '99.

whoever is hired should consider reaching out to Justin Gaines. The former UM defensive back helped open the Texas pipeline that has been so beneficial to MSU. I know he's interested in a return to coaching and a return to Missoula

Like I said, ask any player who played in 95 who the "OC" was........ especially in the playoffs

Alpha--I agree with your opinion quite a lot on here so I am interested, who would be your first choice within reason? Pease, Baldwin, someone else?

His time at Kentucky wasn't really stellar.

I recall the Pease story where he was screaming like a tyrant at a player about missing a block during practice, the player responded...."coach, I'm on defense, not your o-line".

The Wisconsin guy sounds very interesting

Brent P. Not so much, process still way early. Would like an outside guy over another internal hire. Getting outside the box for a change. Have to be. Honest, didn't like pease so much during um days but wth, we get who we get. Have confidence in kent h making best short and long term hire.

Pease is a pro-style offense guy, by virtue of working with Boise State and UW. It's what landed him the Florida job.
He might also be familiar with Kefense Hynson, who did a stint as quality control guy. Maybe not a big transition on offense with a Pease hire.

Why?

I thought they played with 11 players just like we do, football is football you either know it or you are like most people on eGriz. If you can coach you can coach they no nothing different at DIII than they do at NAIA or FBS.

Yup!

Why would anyone want Baldwin? He has half a team and has for about 4 years now. They play no defense at all and are pretty undisciplined. He has done nothing but beat up a really really bad conference while Montana has been raped with scandal and bad management.

My short list would be as follows:

1. Brent Vigen
2. Jeremiah Johnson
3. Lance Leipold
4. Brent Pease
5. Jeff Choate

If some shitbag like Baldwin, Paulson or any coach on the current team is hired I am done until the next hire. I will just go golfing in Arizona in the fall instead of watch us slip back to MSU and Ewu more and more. Fu*k that

Balwins half teams have been better than just about anybody elses full team. Wonder what he would do with a full team.......................

We would never find out, that is his legacy at Ewu all O, no D and we know how much they love the D in Cheney.

Another University of Washington coach with a great football mind...Jeff Choate. BTW..he played under Coach Delaney and Coach Dennehy...

Didn't like hauk cause he never won the big one. Baldwin wins a national title but apparently their team doesn't play enough defense. Just what would make you happy alpha? Never mind, I really don't care.
