Gubrud on the screens being open in the second half:
“I wasn’t surprised that was open,” Gubrud said. “Our receivers are exceptionally good blockers on the edge and they do a great job of making people miss. You get three against three over there, you theoretically only have to make one guy miss if everyone blocks it. It’s a numbers game for us. If they are going to overload the box, we are going to put it outside and make you run.”
Eagles ignore missed chances, pile up 2nd half points

Again...anyone else have that theory? Oh wait...if Stitt wants to do it, it's a garbage play...that's right
Compare Stitt's level of success on bubble screens to EWUs. Do his wide receivers get blocks? First series against EWU: 6 yards on first down. Bubble screen - incomplete. Bubble screen - incomplete. Punt. It's been well scouted by now and easy to defend because we don't get the blocks on the perimeter. Someone will gamble, overplay it, and turn it into a pick 6 risk. But you like it....
It amazes me people still do not get that just because a bubble screen is run does not mean that was the play called. Jensen has the option on every play to check into something else, run or pass. Do you ever consider how the outside receivers get open downfield regularly, and how bubble screens help make that happen? Would that happen if other DC's didn't walk up their CB's to try to pick 6? If our D was as good at tackling in the second half as the first the points would not have come so easy for EWU.
BTW, what I noticed is their defensive backs seemed faster than our receivers (ran them down before scoring) and our DB's didn't seem to run any of their receivers down.
