Nobody good wants to play for MONTANA

ordigger said:
I wake up to a new day! Can't wait to see the team next year. I'm hoping that Wayne remains with the team. Not sure why this team cannot be better next year than this?

We have 4 super sophs, and incoming freshman that potentially will be better than Cherry, in Dunn. A 7 footer with some real game experience at the end of the season. Wiley & Bradshaw will get more playing time PLUS Jamar & Coleman are the only seniors. And what if Marko and/or Billy Reader can find a home here again if academic issues are resolved.

Yep next year is looking good plus I'm betting the schedule will be much better. Davidson at home perhaps, the Hawaii game, and return of long time rival Idaho. Hopefully our conference schedule is fewer games next year so we can schedule some more non conference games.

Future is bright. Very bright......I'm a fan. I believe in my GRIZ. Go GRIZ!!!!

yup, the sun did come up this morning, the toilet flushed clockwise as always, the coffee cleared some of the cobwebs and you are spot on with this post. Next year is looking good for the Griz :thumb:

Unless something has changed, Marko will be with Utah next year.

You give up on things when u don't get your desired results...so I doubt you will be giving the university any more money. Are you going to come back to football this year? Please dont

I am... And would you rather I burn my tickets next year than let another fan have them free?

Something else you should keep in mind when it comes to basketball....We are in the BSC and never in the running to win a title like we are for football. Acting like its the end of the world when we get crushed by Syracuse is silly to say the least. We won the BSC reg season, won the tourney...and upset would have been awesome but in that game, that match up its not likely. To discount what this team did in the regular season and BSC tourney isn't fair. Im sure you were having a hell of a good time when we were hosting and winning our conf tourney.... :thumb: heres to you staying away from griz sports all together

Yeah a HELL OF A GOOD TIME... I paid for... Like last year if the university doesn't want my money they can tell me that... But why do I continually get mail from them asking for my support? O that's right Becker007 doesn't work in the scholarship office... Sorry I hurt your feelers bud but naysayers have their place in your perfect world... Go Griz!

why does nearly every post you make have something to do with you "paying for tickets" or giving money to the griz...whats ur deal

gotta back Bgrizzled on this one. It's his money, he can do what he wants, the U of M has already spent it. I don't think he said he was going to quit supporting the basketball team. As far as the football decision, I watched em to the bitter end, but I don't blame anybody for not wanting to watch that f*** up of a coach pretend he knows which was is up. Disgusting, and very hard to watch. Besides, he and hammer got in a pissing match and both bought tickets for Grizkids or whatever the f*** it is....some real good came of it.
That's good if you want to back him....its your opinion and I respect that....just like its his opinion to say Nobody good wants to play for UM....or pick and choose when he wants to be a football fan...I respect your opinion but will never respect what bgrizzled says when he doesn't see his desired results. I know he doesn't care what I think, he expects greatness and titles...nothing else is good enuf, and that's just not realistic especially in regards to our basketball program

agree with you on this thread...Tinkle will get his recruits...beating syracuse MAY have landed a recruit that was off our radar...but it won't cost us any that Tinkle already has. To get the superstar, he's going to have to find one in the rough, or make a tourney run. But, it's fairly obvious that the Griz are getting good players, just not Big East quality.

You are exactly right...We will never get players that are considered "good players" when it comes to a national level...so maybe what he said is right no matter how stupid it sounds. We do get high quality bsc players. Like u said, find one in the rough...When that happens, if we get throttled by a national contender, I doubt he will be looking to get out of town. Right now we are a very good BSC team and wayne is building a great program. Lets hope he sticks around and continues to build this program, if that happens maybe we will be ready to make a run. Defensively SU was a brutal matchup, pretty sure we are as good as Harvard and Davidson, and I think both those teams would have suffered a similar fate against Syracuse (pure speculation of course).

No one good wants to play for Montana. Really? Define "good." UM is not a Kentucky, who even despite being truly horrible this year, landed a top high school prospect on name alone. We are not in the running to get a squad of Mcd's All-Americans and never were. UM does however have a remarkable history of developing some pretty darn good players. We shoot close to our normal percentages last night and no one would be spouting this crap. Enjoy what we achieved as a mid-major from the Big Sky, or chuck your Griz cap in the garbage and become a BIg East or ACC fan - cause if you are only satisfied with final-four level play, you will be miserable here. I am damn proud of what Tinkle accomplished, and the spirit of this team. I wouldn't trade the joy and energy of that Big Sky championship game for any first round win...
hmmmmmm, I would...

Although not the end of the world, getting depantsed on national prime time TV has to be bad for recruiting. While there is certainly no shame in losing in the first round of the NCAA tourney it had to be a big blow to the players and coaches ego’s. I was embarrassed for them and I have no doubt that tons of potential HS recruits felt the same way. I've been reading on here about how this was just a bad match-up for the griz but lets face it, they stepped up with the big dogs and found out they can't run with them.

If I've learned one thing between the most recent football & basketball seasons, it's that Bgrizzled whines like a little a girl & throws in his towel the second something doesn't go right. Pathetic

^ This.

One bad game and he's sniveling and ranting about how nobody good wants to play for the Griz.

Yes, it was in the NCAA tournament on the big stage...yes the Griz played like crap (I'm pretty sure they'd admit that too). Wide open shots that they hit more often than not were just not even close. Multiple players developed hands of stone, and bad passes that no one could even touch seemed to be the norm for that game. They played like they needed some Valium or something to calm them down (Where was Growler & his drug rep bag when we needed him!?!)

bGrizzled - The 84-85 Griz lost in the NIT 78 - 47 to UCLA. Nobody good was on that team either huh?

relaxy Potomac, did you read his posts? He supposedly shells out a lot of money to the university! JUST RELAX!

actually I agree with everything you said  :thumb:

I remember two years ago when the Bears went Dancing and several Griz fans were just waiting for us to get hammered by SDSU. Well, I can say we played much better against the Aztecs than you did against your two previous tourney opponents. Way to go Griz

And the year before that, we almost beat New Mexico while your team wasn't even close to SDSU. So what's your point?

Maybe be a humble conference partner. It really did suck when some Griz fans were rooting for us to get destroyed.

What tournament were you guys in this year?
What tournament were you guys in last year?
How many top 200 RPI teams did you beat this year?
How many non-conference D1 games did you guys win this year?

I'll give you a hint...all 4 of those questions can be answered with the same 4 letter word that rhymes with "DONE". ;)

As for Griz fans rooting against UNC, some probably were doing that based on how UNC won their 2 tournament games that year... I'm guessing NAU fans weren't jumping up and down rooting for UNC either.
