The bowl games being more meaningful (in his view) than a FCS playoff has nothing to do with the bowl games being more or less meaningful than a FBS playoff.TCCGRIZ said:I understand what he said , I was curious ad to his thoughts on " why did the FBS start going to a playoff system ". Couldn't they have just stayed with the status quo ( bowl games for everyone and a selection committee ) since bowl games are so meaningful?
Obviously a lot of fans wanted the FBS playoff to make a "real" champion. For the record I'm not sure the FBS playoff was a total win from the fan perspective. I've gotten tired of the ESPN talking heads being all playoff all year, rather than talking about the conference races. Regionalism is what makes college football great, IMO.
My opinion is , The fcs playoff system although not perfect is better than what the fbs is doing now . You could still have conferance championship a fcs style playoff . Along with a few meaningless bowl games . Happy all the way around maybe !!!???
