MSU vs. Sac State.

Grizbeer, I think I'm one of the most level-headed and objective posters on this board when it comes to Montana State. I don't let my dislike get in the way of what I truly think about the Cats. Having said that, I think the Cats have a fantastic offense, and actually, the Griz have NEVER had a lock on the talent in the Big Sky. The conference ALWAYS has lots of talented players. Having said that, no matter the Griz struggles right now, the Cats don't have a single player as talented as Ellis Henderson on offense, or a single player as talented as Wags on defense. That's not open for debate.

However, as I've said, I can be objective when it comes to MSU, and the Cats O is flat-out LEGIT. Cramsey's changes have paif BIG dividends and Prukop isn't playing like a soph who never started a college football game before.

Edit: sorry Grizbeer, not you, meant to direct that at the post above.

Well Havfan.....as you know Prukop has just been named National POW after his outstanding performance at Sac St.; do you still stand by the statement "the Cats don't have a single player as talented as Ellis Henderson" or would you rather wait for the all BSC team to be announced (sorry Hendo won't be on it) Would Prukop even make a good backup on the 2014 edition of the Griz? Remember.....you are the "objective" one

I agree. The Griz defense is good. Some of the defenses that EWU and MSU have racked up big points on are bad.

Prukop is a one man wrecking machine. He has shown in just his 6th collegiate start that he is one of the best in the country, hands down. He's the whole package and he is just getting started.

I will consider the defense having done well, if they hold EWU under 35 and MSU under 30. I don't see either offense getting 40 on the GRIZ D. Then again, by the time we play the Cats, the weather will certainly help keep their offense down.

msu won't hang 40 on The Griz and neither will ewu. 20 or so and 28 or so respectively. No way 40 :bad:

I think you underestimate both offenses. If healthy, both those teams will score a good chunk of points on UM. UM does have a great defense, but when you really look at the opponents, its tough to tell how great of a defense you have.

- all 4 Griz wins are against teams with losing records.

- held Wyoming to 17, but their highest point total is 20 this year so their offense isn't great.

- held NDSU to 22 points, but the TOP in that game is staggering...

We will find out how good the UM defense is when they play Sac and EWU in back to back weeks and finish with the Cats. Not saying the Griz D isn't great as they have been to date, but we will see how great they are when they play teams that have a better offense.

Get your facts straight. Wyo. is 3-2, and it's only losses are against Mich. St. and Oregon. Wyo. gave Air Force its only loss of the season. UM gave Wyo. 3 more points than Mich. St. and Oregon gave them, and the same as Air Force. NDSU is the no. 1 team in FCS, with a FBS win. Points are far more important that TOP. Pls stop with the dumb comments.

Yes, we will see how good UM's defense is in the future, and we'll see how bad some of those defenses are.

Are you forgetting that EWU has only beaten 1 team with a winning record, MSU?

Prukop runs too much, takes too many chances, and probably isn't going to the last the season.

Yeah, but we have the Griz coaching staff. Wish we had MSU's or EWU's.

Just sayin.......

cats won't face a defense until Montana. That's good! They'll have that false sense of security they normally have in November. ;)

Saffron has 463 yards and 5 TDs tonight.

Prukop ended up with EIGHT TD's, five passing, three rushing. Had almost 500 yards. Will probably the BSC pow again. Might get the national pow.

I'm here all week!

Dakota wins BSC AND National POW.
:thumb:

Woulda gotten my vote too. He made up for the 136th ranked FCS defense in the country.

Holy moly, Rocky...are they worse than Ewoos alleged D?

I've seen nothing that would make me think Prukop is anything less than what he is. The Real Deal. If any Griz QB was putting up those numbers we'd be drooling all over the keyboard and we as Griz fans know it. In fairness though, though they'll NEVER EVER admit it, our resident MSU posters would be right here ripping us for being in love with our quarterback.

The Cats have faced a quality defense...UND, and beat them handily!

Handily might be a bit of a stretch.

The kid can take a hit. He's a gamer, if getting a vital 1st down means going head first or sliding like a pussy he will go head first. He will be just fine, much to your chagrin I'm certain.

That's a great point - the vaunted MSU offense scored 3 more points against UND than the Griz offense did (when you add back the 3 points the officials missed). And you offense did this at home (which should be worth at least 10 points considering how loud and cold your stadium is). With your starting QB for the whole game.

Cats haven't beaten a team with a winning record, have they? UM hasn't. EWU hasn't beaten a team with a winning record by more than 1 point. That must all suck, huh.
