So you bash the Cats for playing in a lower division for all those years, but will gladly take those wins for the overall record.
Aa well as Central Washington and Humboldt St.CDAGRIZ said:KoolMoeDee said:Spanky said:Talk about a cupcake game....that is the Bobcat game! Take a gander at the overall record annd even the casual sports fan would conclude it is a cupcake game for the Griz.

They played the games, right? I mean, MSU counts the Chadron State loss, too, correct?
The point is not that the EWU game is a cupcake; quite the opposite. Ft. Lewis and E. Tenn St. are cupcakes. EWU is OCC when Montana plays them in conf. every year, while the other MSU "rival" in Fullerton's Folly is UND. Even with a weaker BSC schedule, they chose to schedule only one challenging OOC game. Hauck used to like to do that. There are some similarities in the Ash and BH performances in the playoffs with comfy regular season scheduling.havgrizfan said:Spanky, not supporting the Cats at all, but to say playing EWU in a non-conference game instead of scheduling someone else is part of a joke schedule is just stupid no matter how much anyone hates the Cats. If EWU is a joke on MSU's schedule as someone eluded to earlier, than what the hell are the Griz for losing to the Eags the last how many ever times in a row? Again, I clearly stated the Cats' schedule is pretty bad and much, much weaker compared to the Griz. But playing Eastern when they didn't have to is not part of that weak schedule.

You know I hear this from a lot of griz fans and I just saw something recently where a former well known griz player was interviewed and he stated that goal number 1 each year was beating the Cats. secondary was wining the big sky, ect. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.CDAGRIZ said:poorgriz said:Spanky said:State college is very happy with the Big Sky as their history is membership in lackluster conferences. When UM actually competed in the Pacific Coast and Skyline conferences, state college belonged to NAIA /Division2 conferences. The Big Sky Conference is big time for the mighty kitty cats.
No, not at all but keep pretending that all we care about is winning the Big Sky, which we've done recently (BS Champs three times in the last five years), whereas the griz can't even win the Big Sky anymore.
All you guys care about is beating the Griz, which you have not been able to do with regularity since, what, ever? Actually, all you care about is the Griz losing. The Cat fan's order of favorable results is:
1. Griz lose
2. A Griz player gets in trouble
3. NCAA sanctions UM
4. Cats win

Did you not see the earlier post? MSU does not go out and try to schedule cupcakes, just simply does not happen. Sometimes they are a necessary evil. The original plan for 2015 was to play Jacksonville State, but they backed out which caused us to scramble in order to fill the void.

Kind of like ndsu had to do when msu's "business plan" didn't allow for such competition. :fuel:
Ha! You fell into that one hook, line and sinker, as others have pointed out. And I did read the excuse, even if it's true, believing that a program that had not played football in 12 years was the only option did not pass the believability test for me when you have two available dates.poorgriz said:kemajic said:The point is not that the EWU game is a cupcake; quite the opposite. Spanky said:Well, CV, I saw many of those games when we were in the Skyline Conference. I would rather see us in a true Division 1 conference, rather than the B league of Cupcakes. However, if you are accustomed to seeing us play teams in high school stadiums, to each his own.

poorgriz said:Well then you must not understand the scheduling challenges all teams face at the FCS level very well then. If it was easy, UM wouldn't have to feast on at least one cupcake game each year. Furthermore, the MSU schedules have been tougher then um schedules over the past decade or so, on average..... so all this talk about MSU going out of the way to ensure a cupcake schedule is really stupid talk.
