As a somewhat casual outside observer I find this all pretty amusing. On one hand you have a University with a broadly representative committee, including current players on the roster, that is apparently searching for a replacement coach at MSU. I'm assuming that is what happened as well when Jeff Choate (no I do not find the name particularly amusing) was hired. On the other hand you have a University who basically makes the decision on a head coach based on the desires of a bunch of well-healed alumni/donors telling the AD and administration who to hire. Which process will yield better results? Based on the outcome of the last two years it would be easy to conclude which process better serves the University but that is a small sample size. Additionally, and I'm not sure where I got this or if it is even factual (although I'm not putting any effort into researching it) it is said that UM now has the smallest university attendance numbers in the Big Sky. So if that is true I think the members of egriz have a lot more to concentrate on in the long term than who the next MSU coach is. Maybe some of you should examine what exactly have been the improvements at UM since Bodner replaced Dennison instead of wasting sarcasm of the the Bobcat hiring process. Sometimes it is better to clean up your own house first before criticizing another's.
