McDowell to the Portal

Well, like it or not, it's an FBS school. And to all but the most ardent fcs fans (so 98% of America), it's a step up from "small school football" which is the way I usually see fcs described in the national media.

They have a redshirt freshman that started their Bowl Game (Chico Bail Bonds Bowl or whatever it is) and threw for 381 yards and 5 TD's. He might end up being the backup to a young kid just like next year at UM.

Could happen, no doubt.

And 98% of Americans would still think a backup at an fbs is better than a starter at an fcs. Just the nature of the beast.

With the basic premise that FBS >>>FCS, it is.

Of i were to guess, that is a lateral, to step down, in every measurable category besides title.

We all agree. The vast, vast majority of college football fans disagree.

A majority of college football fans, if they took an honest look at it would agree. ESPN might not agree, but they're lost. I do get what you're saying though.

What if McDowell didn't want enter the portal. What if he wants to stay....just asking ??

Cliff...the Hilltoppers play some solid ball! Good luck with them and the FBS! Thank you for what you did for the Griz this year!

It isn't WAGriz that's for sure.....

This is not a reaction unfamiliar to Hilltopper faithful. For years, WKU football has struggled to keep up the attendance standards set by their conference counterparts. Last season, the 11 members of C-USA saw its highest average attendance since 2016 with around 19,300. Yet, the Hilltoppers struggled to play host to over 15,000 on any given occasion throughout the last eight years.

Feel free to NOT click on the link.

Feel free to STFU anytime keyboard warrior. Who always talks tough on an online forum.

I find it hilarious that someone clicks on a thread to make a post....about the fact we're still talking about our QB leaving.

Like I said, the easiest way to not be upset by us still talking about it is to simply NOT CLICK THE LIINK.

It's fully within your power, nostradumbass.

If you haven't listened to Colter's radio broadcast from last Friday you need to give it a listen. Rajiem Seabrook goes off on Clifton McDowell. Really interesting

That would actually be a smart landing spot for him. No incumbent starter. They are looking at transfers to bring in and compete. Still think he made a mistake, but this is the first one he has been publicly looking at that makes any sense to me.

And the longer he waits, the more he's gonna be behind the 8-ball by not being there for spring ball.

I hope we one day find out who was in his ear. I know his exit meeting obviously went badly, but man, this feels like he had the wrong people around him giving him advice. Or maybe just the pride goes before the fall. But man, still bothered by this one. Not because he is irreplaceable as a football player, but he may be as a leader and fire starter. I know we will be fine next year, but I'm gonna miss Big Clif.

His collegiate history is a list of bad decisions. Looking for his FIFTH college??? His choice of a major requires attention to details. He should have known what admission to graduate school required. This seems to have escaped him. Indecisiveness on the field has led to sacks, interceptions, and fumbles(and injuries???).. I hope he has gotten rid of his unofficial 'advisors' and sees what a predicament he has made for himself.

Jesus fuck. What is the DEAL with people piling on this kid, who literally 10 days ago let us to the National Title game for the first time in 14 years. Not Jordy, not Jensen, not Gustafson, not sneed, Humphrey or Johnson. McDowell did that . Y’all are fucking pathetic. Acting like no other QB threw any INT’s, ever got sacked, ever fumbled, ever got tackled, ever threw an incompletion, ever had a moment of indecision….

Why can’t y’all just thank him for his service to the Griz and wish him well?
