McDowell to the Portal

Temple was 3-9 last season. Hope he helps out next year!

I hope he goes to Western Kentucky. Temple has a slew of its offensive line in the portal. Kurt Warner’s kid was their QB and threw for a ton of yards. I think he got hit a lot. Transferred to Rice. Open up vs Oklahoma. Ouch

Officially offered by Temple University

If he plays, I'm a Temple fan for the year. I need an FBS team.

Let's see if he accepts the offer.

'What is past is prologue.'
AKA, how would you rate his decisions over the past four or five years?

Doesn't matter what anyone thinks. Cliff's is only opinion that matters. Happy trails! :thumb:

Temple currently is the best chance he has to start and the AAC is a better/more competitive Conference then CUSA. Hope he gets the job if he commits, best of luck Cliff!

Cliff made a mistake. Should have just stayed with the Griz.
My guess is he ends up some place that either he doesn’t play OR he plays on a team that’s way less out of the spotlight than the Griz.
Grass isn’t always greener Cliff!
Good luck to you young man

End of a sad and unfortunate tale. When will these headcases ever learn they can not demand of Bobby appointment as the starter next year? Or that once in the portal there's no going back? I wish Cliff the best but he got bad advice from his inner circle on how to approach next year, and was left grabbing whatever scraps came his way. The fans here already loved him. He's gone from potential for lasting greatness here to anonymity in Philly. I like the Bergen mindset of the Portal doesn't exit.

Did a quick roster check for 2024 Temple. At present, he faces two redshirt juniors and two freshmen at QB. That includes the transfer from Rutgers. One was last year's backup. At present.

If it isn't going well for him in the spring, I wonder if he will move again.

Do you think anymore Griz guys will enter the 2nd portal? And when is the 2nd portal? Just curious on what you think. Go GRIZ!!

I think next window is the last week or two of April.

I'm sure we will. Some guys will be told they have been passed up on the depth chart by younger or transfer players. Some walk on kids that red shirted through the season will break in winter conditioning and move on to an NAIA type of situation.

We won't lose anyone notable. Any kids that would be thinking they are good enough to move up to a better situation would have already done it. By April, coaches have been through spring ball and generally aren't shopping the portal nearly as hard.

I know instances in the past if a player didn't look like he would get much of a chance to see the field he would talk to coaches in the Spring. Then the coaches would help find a Frontier school for them. Especially if the player was a good kid and worked hard. I'm sure that might still happen. But that would take away from the ability to post an overly dramatic social media post.
