Is Diego Pavia from N Mexico St signed? Dual-threat. Looks very good.

I think Sluka from Holy Cross is unsigned.

Sluka is making a trip to visit UNLV this weekend I believe

Pavia apparently has an offer from Nevada and there is a good chance he may rejoin his old Offensive Coordinator at Vanderbilt
I know UNLV is on the rise but for just 1 year remaining, that doesn’t seem very attractive. I’d be trying to go P5 if I were him. Not sure why he hasn’t gotten more interest. Kids a baller. I’d welcome him with open arms

Cliff just put up on his Instagram a post from First Class Prospects on X that “our client Cliffton McDowell heard from VA Tech today and would be a great pickup for the Hokies this spring.” Not a clear commit but he is getting a look and is sharing.

Important to remember these are very young men trying to make some tough decisions. People in their ear that don’t always have the kids best interest in mind. Ego, confusion, frustration, and anxiety all at play. I say best of luck to Cliff. I wish him well. He made a mistake by not sticking around and this will be a life lesson. Stop running to the next best thing. Put in the work and play the long game. Employers look at your resume. If he is going to be an entrepreneur he can let it roll and maybe things work out. If he is ever going to be an employee, he should stop hopping around.

My take is good luck to McDowell, I hope it all works out
I really do

But truth be told you want to make a name for yourself and a legacy you stay with the Griz. You run it back again and if things work out you get a Griz team to back to the national championship again!!!!

Your talking legacy status, maybe it has to do with education and maybe it has to do with family but man it was right there for him to take and have a chance to be a Griz all time great..... also this to me is your best path to playing at the next level

Oh well other dudes will step in and take that opportunity

McDowell thank you for all you did but man I think you messed up here

Please prove me wrong

I've been looking at qb's still in the portal. There are still a goodly number and some good and pretty good ones. I don't know which teams are looking, except for the several I've researched. I'm surprised there are so many good ones still not signed. Schools will be starting soon. Time for musical chairs to stop. I feel sorry for McDowell. Think he totally goofed up, and may not get a good opportunity. While he wasn't as good in the last several games, he came along well during the season and I think could have kept getting better.

From the look of those posts, that company is marketing themselves as much as they are marketing Clif. That kid would have benefitted a lot from staying and continuing to hear the message that you work and grind through hard things. He is going to end up at lower tier FCS school and not have nearly the finish to his career he would have had playing at Washington Grizzly Stadium.

If he wants to come back, does anyone know the protocol he'd have to follow? Aside from the certain trust and confidence he'd have to earn of his coaches and teammates...

Any protocol would all be internal. As far as the NCAA is concerned, he is still a member of the Montana Grizzlies who has announced his openness to transfer to other schools. Long term policy, as I understand it, is that generally if a kid is interested enough to enter the portal, the staff here considers them not committed enough to the program. No idea if that would apply in this situation, but any protocol for him to return to the team would be all internal. All the athletic department would need to do is send a notice that he wants to be taken out of the transfer portal.

If I’m not mistaken, Bobby has been pretty public that once you hit the portal you’re gone and don’t let the door hit you on the way out. He said we only want guys who want to be here 100%. He seemed pretty adamant about it.

The way it should be. Why spend a scholarship on a kid who doesn’t even know what they want or who may be afraid of competition? Why? There is no way they should take McDowell back and I am betting his teammates have also closed the door on his return. Next man up and it appears that is Ah Yat. I am happy to see it and wish Cliff well. He had his chance and he made the decision. Griz are absolutely headed in the right direction.

That's not a move up

Well, like it or not, it's an FBS school. And to all but the most ardent fcs fans (so 98% of America), it's a step up from "small school football" which is the way I usually see fcs described in the national media.

They have a redshirt freshman that started their Bowl Game (Chico Bail Bonds Bowl or whatever it is) and threw for 381 yards and 5 TD's. He might end up being the backup to a young kid just like next year at UM.

What if McDowell didn't want enter the portal. What if he wants to stay....just asking ??
WTF?????????
Are you implying he was FORCED into the portal?
By whom? Someone put a gun to his head? This is like parachuting out of a plane. Chute not opening? You don't just jump back in. "Happy landings, Hans!"

Wow, looks like a great stadium. 22,000 capacity? I bet it will be just as exciting. :?

Western Kentucky averaged 15,700 last season. 8-5 record. They played Ohio St. 5700 attendance at Famous Toastery Bowl v. Old Dominion.

The redshirt frosh qb was told that he would be converted to TE. He went to the Portal. But after their QB declared for the NFL, the redshirt frosh was allowed to play in the bowl game. He was 40-52. They must have decided to let him play qb, as he withdrew from the Portal.
