Loser of the Brawl out?

I think the whole 'Griz are guaranteed' is a little over optimistic. There are any number of scenarios where the Griz don't get in. One of them is SUU wins out and the Griz lose next week.

The Griz are probably in, but it aint' over till it's over.
Like I said before it's just my belief but SUU won't win out and there is no way they won't take a 9-3 team if the Griz lose but the way Msu is playing tonight the Griz won't lose next week

Hopefully, JJ will be healthy.

Below the two leaders (Maine and Towson), the mighty CAA has three teams that have already lost 4 games, and one of them has a tough matchup next week:
UNH (6-4) plays Maine (9-1)
Delaware (7-4) plays Nova (5-5)
W&M (7-4) plays Richmond (5-6)

You look at the other top conferences, and they drop off the same way. It is almost inconceivable that a 9-3 Griz team (assuming, heaven forbid, the kitties win next week) does not get a bid. Perhaps not a top seed, but when they stomp the pussies, that would probably happen too. :D

I agree. Outside of Maine, no CAA team should be considered for a seed and Nova and Richmond are no pushovers.

It would seem to me a scenario of the Griz losing and SUU winning next week might be pretty precarious for the Griz.

So Griz win and a seed in the playoffs vs. Griz lose and they don't even get in the playoffs. Wow no in between on eGriz tonight.

Griz win and are seeded and a bye, Cats are out. Griz lose and both teams are in and probably both play first round on road?

Close but both will be home. Someone has to pay for the playoffs.

This. No way the NCAA walks away from the games that actually have people in attendance.

Griz are in guaranteed, regardless even if they lose to MSU.

You sure about that? ... A Cats win over the Griz would be a pretty big statement, and vice versa if the Griz roll the cats. In-conference records are even at this point...I know the cat have more overall loses though...how much does that hurt them, also taking into consideration that one of the losses was by 1 pt to an FBS team?

What's going to hurt them is two losses to unranked teams, SFA and SUU.

My guess is their only chance is to hope SUU beats NAU and they beat the Griz, if those two things happen they have a chance, still not a slam dunk because their SRS rating is not that good.

In the last two weeks, I too have changed my tune. I do not believe SUU will beat NAU, BUT if the T-Birds did and the Griz lose at MSU, I think, at the very least, there is a chance the Griz are left out. I know, I know, "The 9-3 Griz are a LOCK". I've said it myself, BUT the structure of the Big Sky is really bothering me, not the whole "The Griz haven't beat anybody thing", just the unbalanced Big Sky that has me worried. The fact that NAU and EWU didn't play really sucks, because I think VA and the Eags would have demolished NAU, and then if the Jacks would lose to SUU then it's NAU that would be out. However, again, I don't think the T-Birds will beat the Jacks and I think that allows MSU back in if they beat the Griz.

This stuff always confuses me...If the cats win next week, although unlikely, they would have the win over the griz, a better conference record than the griz, and a dominating win over NAU...But I don't know how the SRS stuff works, I will trust your assessment Jod!

This...Suu and scats win, Griz are out...I think... ;)

I think so too. Crazy position for the Griz to be in. Win and get a top 5 seed with a likely first round bye. Lose and possibly out or on the bubble at least.

Here's the real bottom line. I think the Big Sky is tough and I don't give a rats ass what Sagarin or any of those other computers say. However, IF Southern Utah beats NAU, the Birds are IN the playoffs. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY FIVE BIG SKY TEAMS ARE GOING. It isn't possible. So, in the scenario of SUU winning at home, AND MSU winning at home, who doesn't go? You guys still think MSU doesn't go with only two Big Sky losses? You guys don't think NAU goes with only two Big Sky losses? Or do some of you think SUU is OUT even with a win and only TWO Big Sky losses. Or are some of you who have been wathcing the FCS/1-AA playoffs since at least 1991 like I have, think that I'm wrong and we will see, for the first time ever, the Big Sky get five teams into the playoffs?

The thing we don't know is how this new system is going to affect who goes and who doesn't, that's what makes me nervous...how much weight are they going to give the SRS over the standards they've used forever? It's kind of untested waters, we'll know a lot more after the brackets are filled but I don't like being on the bubble in its first year, could be better or worse than the way we're used to.

very simple scenario: Griz win and they are IN. Griz loss with an SUU win, and they are out.
EWU/NAU/MSU and SUU will all be ahead of them.
